Incorrect. According to a dev interview, that was going to be the original plan, but 2 was too far into development by the time of Callie vs. Marie, so they decided to just have the theme reflected in 2's story. Regardless of the outcome, Callie would have been brainwashed. 2's final fest did impact 3 as a whole, however.
