At least in Splatoon 1, abilities (except damage up, which would never lower a weapon's shots to kill) would offer diminishing returns, but they'd still have an effect. I'm not sure about Splatoon 2 but I'd assume it functions in a similar way. What if you have the enemies using Splashdown too? If they pop it whenever they get it, it'd mean 1. That you get a burst of turf to cover and 2. That they don't run out of ink as often. I also think you could extend overtime further on Splat Zones, by having one enemy and two teammates on the Zone. Enemy inks the Zone fully, teammates half-ink it before it can count down too far, wait until overtime is about to end, then enemy inks it fully again. Since it's impossible to stall forever, I don't think there would be a forced overtime limit on Splat Zones, meaning you could go a full 100 count with each point taking ~10-15 seconds. That's assuming Splat Zones overtime works the same in Splatoon 1 though.

Wouldn't Ink Armor be faster than Splashdown? Also, I think Tenacity gives you about 3 mains of Special Charge Up when it activates aside from giving you auto charge. Don't know if it still has that in Splatoon 2.

Surely if you stopped the tower closer to you, the areospray on the tower could continue to ink? Also, if the person who gets on the tower keeps jumping in the way before he's needed, perhaps more ink could be spread by the death explosion?

the risk of that would be space dying to my splashdown. Also you mean the person on my team? If he gets killed a bunch I won't be the one getting any specials from it. Either way eventually they moved the tower a bit closer to the end so space could throw sprinklers above me (you can see that towards the end)

Yes, but if the person dies to the others, it makes a large burst of ink. That could give you a bit more ink every 10 seconds or so. Also, if the person who was at risk of dying to your special had 3 mains of bomb resistance they could stand a bit closer by utilising the resistance.

Y'all could probably get to 99 if you have the other teammate jump on the platform when it's almost to the 3rd checkpoint. That way there's slightly more time for you to get some more in

Now, get a lot of specials and 99 kills in the game. 2 people ink, and 2 people ink far away. When you use Splashdown, you get 2 kills. However, you'd probably only get around 60 specials, but 60x2=120, and therefore maxes out the counter at 99. Can you try this?

So I was in ranked on musselforge fitness during tower control and it was going up the slope areas that connect to the middle, I was trying to jump onto it (in squid form) while it was moving away from me but I kept failing and ended up hitting the bottom of the tower. It was near the top but not fully on the middle platform. Then, for a brief moment, I was somehow inside the tower. I don't know exactly know all the details since it happened so fast and I swear i'm not making this up. Can someone look into this for me? I would test it out more on how this occurred but I don't have any friends that own a Nintendo switch.

+WesleyMK you could hit 99 possible if you had all special charge up or as much as you can get, and had tenacity and had either your teammates constantly swimming offstage or one teammate only and see if that works better to get you not specials.
