@@boscostick4427 I was kinda surprised by that too, but remember clam blitz wasn’t part of splatoon 2 at launch, it got added later, so I could see them doing the same thing with this game, adding a new mode or two later on.

Also, Rassicas confirmed she was Paruko on their Twitter, and they always check their sources before (in this case, I think the Japanese direct names her Paruko).

Chase, I'm sorry, I may become a sword main LOL. In all seriousness, it looks really cool and I loved this direct. Splatoon 3 is going to be so good (excluding Tenta Missiles)! Things I noticed that you might not have noticed in the first reaction/you didn't react to these things: - funny joke haha they named one of the headgear "Cephalo pods" - You can use 45 ability chunks to change the main slot of any gear - *Only 8 Clams are necessary to make a ball* and you can also see how many clams each player in the match has on the UI at the top of the screen (really nice QOL change, I like it a lot) - You can use the Big Shot cannon to shoot Golden Eggs closer to the basket in Salmon Run - The voiceover said "This is one of the new King Salmonids" implying there will be more than the Godzilla one - In the King Salmonid wave, there is no ink cost to throwing Golden Eggs. This may be for any of the following reasons: 1. They scrapped that idea and throwing Golden Eggs in general no longer costs ink. 2. You don't have to use ink to throw Golden Eggs at a short range, but if you want to throw them farther you have to charge and use ink. 3. Throwing Golden Eggs only doesn't cost ink during King Salmonid waves as you need to use them to win the fight. - Story Mode is much more similar to Octo Expansion. You are given specific kits for each level (or potentially you can choose kits, but this seems much less likely). The Little Buddy is a sub-weapon replacement in some of these kits. - The finale: I'm assuming they mean to the story mode following the New Squidbeak Splatoon vs. Octavio. I don't think they just announced that Splatoon 3 is the last game. - There is food for playing with friends, which can increase your cash or xp gain when playing in a group (part of this is assuming it's w/friends, but it shows the meal as with 4 squids, which is different than the other meals, so I don't think I'm just jumping to conclusions here) - They messed up the audio with the Splatling recon mode, minor nitpick, but it's there - Recon mode is an hour long now - Splatnet 3 seems mostly pointless excluding the gear shop and Crusty Sean thing now. It seems like they're selling Splatnet exclusive gear, rather than gear with different main abilities, as you can now change them with chunks. All of the other information, however, seems to be available in the new lobby/training area/replay thing/locker room - There is a significantly larger basis on Japanese culture for the idols and Splatsville, however they also seem to have more influence from other cultures than in Splatoon 2 - Still two stage rotations. *sad*

Things I like in order of appearance. (and a couple I don't) 1. Explo's emote looks nice 2. Squid surge doesn't activate with a button press at the lip of the wall like I thought but rather is a means of charging it and bounding the whole wall in a single action. Very cool. Mechanically simplistic, but cool. 3. Squid Roll doesn't actually grant invincibility frames but merely light resists ink damage or knockback or both. Which is good. 4. I like Scorch Gorge's tower 5. Very hyped for Undertow Spillway 6. Hammerhead Bridge is now completed it's construction in-universe, might make it better or worse. Those scaffolding grates were unique. (this is a S1 thing) 7. Mahi Mahi is back. I'm over the moon. Yes. (S1 map) 8. Sturgeon, Inkblot, Makomart, Wahoo: all good S2 maps. Maybe Wahoo a little less so. Would have preferred Reef, Manta, or Arrowana 9. Flounder Heights is coming in the future which is the S1 map I wanted MOST. woooo 10. Splatana huh? Since I've dropped Krak-on Roller (now secondary) for Explosher as my main maybe I should pick this up and have it be my secondary. Probably should invest in a shooter this time though. 11. - Worst part of the direct for me. Missiles are back. Horrid. 12. - Inkjet happens to counter Explo, I was hoping it wasn't coming back either. Though I'd take it over Missiles. 13. Ultra Stamp and Booya Bomb are back, I wanted ONLY those two back, as they were late additions to S2. And they're excellently designed besides. 14. You just plain just don't use gold for weapons anymore. Now gold is for other stuff. 15. By spending extra tickets I can get Explo early. Bitchin. 16. Headgear shop's mini-sidekick tradition still going. Those teeny shades are adorable. 17. Noticed "Sub Resistance Up" that is clearly going to replace Bomb Defense DX. I like. 18. - I don't think I approve of "Intensify Action" these new movement options should be predictable uniformly I feel. 19. You can save Weapon+gear combos. Yes, fantastic. AND specific sensitivity settings on them? Now that's just going the extra mile. Charger benefits form lower sens. I might finally invest real time into it now. 20. You can change the MAIN slots too on gear now. Now you can truly look however you want. 21. Checkpoints for Rainmaker. Neat. No new change to ClamBlitz. Many think it needs a tweak. I for one like the mode. 22. Test Range is MASSIVE now, nice. 23. Can play in the test range while waiting for a match. INCREDIBLE. 24. Ghosts are cool AND let you play with friends on the same team. I know you've wanted that. Same. 25. Replay recordings automatically saved. This will let us review our own plays and even judge what the enemy was doing. And learn. 26. Locker decorating. Thats nifty. Thats what gold is for then. 27. Splashtags are even cooler. And Fortnite emotes, lol this is our future. Not even cringe when it isn't Kratos doing that fucking floss dance. 28. LMAO card battles. The announcer was cute here. eh I'll play it once. Maybe it's really good? 29. Salmon run. Bro egg passing changes everything. I'm actually excited for this mode now 30. She says "one of" the new King Salmonids. So there might be more types than just this Godzilla one. 31. Salmon Run on regular maps. Thats awesome. Splatfest but for Salmon Run. 32. Looks like the campaign is continuing the philosophy of Octo Expansion. Very Good. 33. Also jesus the plaza is huge this time around 34. Photo mode and can put em in your locker. Nothing but FEATURES in Splatoon 3. 35. Recon any map, any time. I want to cry. 36. With X battle existing that'll take some of the edge off of Anarchy Battles. You might get some enjoyment out of the other modes now. 37. Updates every 3 months is stellar and the phrase "Large-Scale Paid DLC" gets me hard. 38. - Wew. The blue idol is serviceable but Frye is so ridiculously fugly it has to be on purpose. Jesus. 39. Skipping the fucking news. Thank you. 40. Their song is pretty damn good though. 41. 3 choice splatfests thats wild. 42. -+ Oh I didn't notice the first time that TriColor is actually 2v4v2 not 4v4v4. Don't know how I feel about that. 43. Testfire splatfest. Sweet. 44. - eh Big Man seems like more of a mascot. Or a pet. Not just up a going with 3 idols with a RGB motif feels like a missed opportunity. 45. Splatoon at Pax, this game is getting SO much love from Nintendo. This is finally being treated with flagship-series status like Mario and Zelda. So this was absolutely amazing 12/10. Features. Features. Features. If I find out Tenta Missiles have been significantly nerfed and Burst Bombs get the rework-nerf I want this'll even be 13/10 I'm absolutely over the moon right now. I love this game.

Y'know, I was never expecting a reference to the Full Power Up ability from the Splatoon 1 local multiplayer. But here we are. (If you didn't know, Splatoon 1 had a special 1v1 local multiplayer mode, where you scored points by popping balloons. You could break crates that appeared on the stage for a Special Charge, or some other affects like attaching a Disruptor to your opponent. Full Power Up was one of these affects, and gave a variety of small buffs. Also I CALLED THE SPLATANA

99% sure they brought back missiles and storm because of bosses, with the exception of stingray since it was just a hot mess, inkjet was a fan favorite and booyah and stamp only got on 5 weapons Also the returning maps were mostly fan favorites, and I’m pretty sure casuals love wahoo Other than that, the game looks great!

We got it boyz. We got gear savers. Too bad, I never saw my Dualie Squelchers, but at these they'll be there. My only prob is that I dont like Deep Cut. I'm gonna need a while before I can get used to their UGLY designs. (Big Man is approved tho, hes awesome!) But other then that, his game ia gonna be FIRE!! (Edit: I take back what I said.
