Hello! Thank you for your content! I'm a begginner player and I'm trying to learn to play brellas. Could you give some advice on which skills work best for brellas? And I'm not sure which "role" the tenta fits in too..

Tent's a tank and support (especially with its new kit). Beacons ar good for getting teammates back in quickly (unless it's solo q, then they'll be ignored) and vac is really good for supporting teammates. A few tips for brellas: 1. Have good internet! If the game is laggy, then your shield will straight up not work and you'll be miserable 2. Watch out for bombs. Bombs instantly explode on your shield, and they could end up killing you or your teammates. 3. Learn what counters shield. Ink wall, sploosh, big bubble, bombs, e-liter, inkjet, reef slider, ultra stamp, and splatlings all do lots of damage to or instantly destroy shield. 4. Watch out for blasters. I think this goes without saying. You might think that slosher players are also dangerous, but they're too dumb to be a threat.

@@scottcrabtree1066 thank you so much for replying! I'll take all you said into my practices. I've noticed today that brellas are a lot more useful in ranked than in turf wars too! Any tips on useful abilities to look for on my gear? Cheers!!

@@bGOD Yeah, brellas are better in ranked because they are very good at pushing/defending objectives Abilities: All: Sub resistance. You'll want some of this to reduce chip damage from bombs so it's harder for you to get picked off from behind your shield. Brella: Main saver: Splat Brellas are pretty ink hungry, especially the shield. Run speed: makes your move faster with your shield so you don't get pinned down as easy. Tent: Definitely main saver: this weapon eats ink like there's no tomorrow. A bit of run and swim speed in nice on Tent. Under (I'm less experienced with this one): Probably main saver and run speed. Also, quick respawn is good for all of these, since brellas are pretty risky to use. I'm not sure how much of each ability you should have yet, I'm still optimizing my gear.

@@scottcrabtree1066 Thank you very much! I'm trying to run Main Saver and some Ink Recovery as I'm short on Main Saver on my gear.

@Scott Crabtree @Henrique Ceron Netto Scott summed it up very well, you have to play more carefully in Splatoon 3 since your special can’t effectively help you in your fights when you’re by yourself like Ultra Stamp or Bubble Blower used to in Splatoon 2. This was Splatfest footage, so I played tent with the Splatoon 2 playstyle, and it went alright but in the actual game you’d want to play more with you mates. A small clarification for the gear for tent however is that you don’t need run speed up anymore, since when you’re going to be moving around your shield you’ll be swimming not running ; and even with run speed you can’t really move in your shield as much as you’d like and it makes it pretty difficult to position yourself in the shield properly, since if you hold the stick forward fully, you’ll go in front of the shield and can get punished even more easily : I find that it’s just making the game more difficult and it doesn’t really help you. You can run it if you want, but you won’t see the ability used on pro’s build in Splatoon 3. There’s still a lot of gear experimentation for tent right now, the latest trend being ninja squid with some swim speed up to help you escape fights and punish people trying to bomb you from behind more effectively (since they have no idea where you are). I have yet to test it myself but it is what some of the best tents are running at the moment (namely Tera, Chikashi and Tagupi)
