It's so iconic that Francis's form is an Inking in Maya (and/or Milton) Bluedale's world since back in Smg4's world, Francis was an anime greedy chameleon who nearly wipe out the inking race just so he can create anime girls by using Axol's magic pen "Inkweaver", nearly killing Meggy, and killing Desti in the process.

I may have something to explain that. Do you know how desti ended up in mayas world and not heaven, it’s basically your classic isekai story (being reincarnated or transported to another world). Desti herself explains in better detail how she sorta ended up their (to her knowledge), it’s possible after death Francis did the same. Also death and vengeance obviously does things to a man and Mario does not live in mayas world he would obviously want to go for the next best thing and thats desti (see as how she played a part foiling his plans the first time)

Everyone even the virtulings attended this funeral. 50 years have passed, this is the most happiest day. I then transferred my soul into another body and they still thought I'm dead. Yeah I faked my death. Maybe I'll find and tell them for another day. Based on Revenged ending in Completing the Mission and Presumed Dead in Fleeing the Complex. (This really come to my mind)

I have a theory: As the spare Ink zuccer 2000 sucked the life-force out of Francis, His life force flowed the same wormhole as Desti did from SMG4 to Maya's world. Since it's Maya's dimension with inklings, the wormhole somehow changed Francis' physical appearance to fit her world.
