I think in Splatoon 4 the E-Litre 4k should get replaced with the DualiE-Litre 0k which is an E-Litre sliced in half but one half just spills ink out on the floor because there’s nothing to compress it and the other half does nothing

I like to look at Nova as how they would have changed Dual if it was ever brought back. Mains like Dynamo Range and H3 for example got a lot of nerfs going from S1 to S2 so I like to see it as how they’d would have given that treatment to Dual

Me too, I really like how some weapons have changed over time and the sequels. Each weapon has a lot of personality so it would have been cool seeing what changes would be to Dual Squelcher, would have loved the devs messing around with the fire rate with it having 2 outputs of ink or even add some mechanic that involves both nozzles

It's still in the game, it just got heavily nerfed and reskinned. It's going by Splattershot Nova nowadays, its internal name is the same as it always was and the vanilla kit is an obvious reference to its S1 specials. Sure it feels way worse but to say it doesn't exist anymore is to say Dynamo doesn't exist anymore

I mean if dynamo was removed from Splatoon 2 and replaced by big swig in Splatoon 3, I'd argue it also doesn't actually exist anymore, lol. It might sound extreme but nova is so weak compared to dual squelcher that I feel it's an appropriate comparison.

2:53 when you roll with them there’s a distinct “click” with them in game so i just assume that the handle just sinks a bit more into the gun for it’s turret fire

The Daul Squelchers were one of my mains back in the first Splatoon, along with the Berry Pro and the Wasabi Splattershot

I was maining dual squelcher and ttek in s1, and it was sad not getting them in 2 or 3, i'm glad not everyone has forgotten this weapon because i still think about it sometimes lol

I think that the main issue with including the Dual Squelcher is that the weapon and name are far too easy to confuse with the existing Dualie Squelchers, as well as it being very easy to mistake for being in the Dualie class. The distinction might be obvious to long-time fans, but it's likely to be confusing for an average person, so I think that the developers wanted to make a clear distinction between the weapons and classes, and so the original weapon was modified to fit the Dualie class.

Not to mention that there’s not really a reason to play dual squelchers if there’s just an objectively upgraded version of it through dualie squelchers.

That naming distinction also doesn’t even exist in the Japanese version. They’re both called dual sweeper

I was a dual squelcher main back in splatoon one and I honestly think it's a little redundant now. Dualie squelchers are very fun and cool, and the nova has what feels like bascially all the balance changes they would have made to it.

I personally think the game had a lot of content, it would have helped if they added Splatfest and Big Run maps to PBs, the lack of third kits as well as having a seasonal model with no mid season updates besides map changes towards the end was disappointing though

Honestly, there's something kinda cool how its the only weapon to have been phased out I wonder if any other weapons will end up retooled or scrapped

I agree. It's what made me be drawn to it so much. I love obscure things in games a lot I would love to see weapons altered for other classes like the Dualie Squelchers while keeping it's original variant as well

Very good video! As a Dual Squelcher + Dualie Squelchers main I'd like to voice disagreement with bringing it back simply because the dualie version is a straight upgrade. The rework made perfect sense and it feels wrong to say the Dual Squelcher was "left behind" since the new version is literally just that weapon but better and renamed. Plus, they would overlap too much with each other and Pro/Nova... we already have plenty of weapon overlap in this series, like the Splattershot/Splash/Zap line, though the devs have made them more distinct over time (such as with Splash's perfect jump accuracy and Zap's supportive kits). I'd actually call for MORE weapon reworks, like turning Goo Tuber into a bow or something like that. How sick would that be??

Thank you for the feedback and I agree. It is a downgrade from the Squelchers and it would add to the weapon overlap I would like to see it return even if it's subpar. It's been absent and would be a cool callback but there is a good reasons why it has gone (which you state perfectly) More weapon reworks sound really fun. I would like more fusion weapons like Dualie Squelchers which are 2 weapon classes in 1 weapon. I feel a Dualie Charger would be interesting because of how conttasting they both are

I don't see the point in bringing back dual squelcher when we have both Dualie Squelchers (objectively better and cooler version of the weapon) and Nova (worse version of Dual Squelcher but it's still there ig). Even if it was added back, it'd just continue to be irrelevant like it was before. People only care about it because it's the only weapon technically "removed", but it really just would be forgettable again if added back. The game doesn't need another midline shooter that's never going to see use ever when there's already an objectively better version of it AND another weapon obviously made to replace it. Even in casual play it'd see a slight amount of hype from s1 vets who remember it before going to barely being seen ever again.
