Revenge of the pickled nitra! LUL I think you needed to level the beam weapon so bad, with all the damage behind you you needed something to get rid of all the bugs that managed to sneak through that, than even the slow speed wouldnt be such a big deal I think

Level is ok, but Objectives usually scale better without meta or good xp upgrades. It goes to around 50 Armor either way if you can beat all objectives. on Endless mode, I usually take both anyways
