Todd seems we’re all chasing our tails to get enough wood to start the seasoning process I agree with you that this year with as warm as it’s been the drying process should be faster. Nice job with your expansion. You guys stay safe👍TCT
@toddsoutsideagain4 ай бұрын
Yeah we sure have been busy with other things but still cracking away at firewood here and there! It’s eventually going to add up to something 😂 I really believe with the short mild winter, the firewood seasoning process is already well on its way. Thanks for stopping by Tony. 👊🏻

Looking great, Todd. Same here, kids' activities in school, the wife's grandparents just moved closer, so they are 10 minutes away. In there mid 80s and need help from time to time I am still pecking away at Firewood two times a week, rain or shine..😉👍

Thanks. Yeah I’m betting with this unseasonably warm weather and the fact that it is split smaller we will be ok to sell this fall! Appreciate ya watching David👊🏻

Well Todd you got some nice splits in the trailer. Your neighbors got to appreciate you cutting the grass and keeping the area cleaned up. Your stacks always look neat clean and organized. Great job my friend.

Was waiting for you to mention that the Honeysuckle was greening up too!😬My yearly battle is about to begin! 🤬New woodyard looking good. That Oak is plenty dry for sure. All standing dead can go straight into my boiler! Take care Todd!👍🏻

Yeah believe it or not two years ago I cleared and sprayed all that crap behind the house!! It’s so frustrating🤬It’s a full time job for sure. Yeah I believe the boiler will eat about anything😂Thanks for watching Rod👊🏻

Thanks. We have tried to do a little everyday with doing most of the gathering on the weekends! Leaves us rounds to split after work when time allows. Thanks for stopping by Bobby👊🏻🥃

That’s a great idea using the dump trailer as a workstation I’ve done that before very helpful minimizing the bending over 👍
@toddsoutsideagain4 ай бұрын
Yeah I used to bring rounds home and dump them on the ground. I now only dump the rounds if I need the trailer. Double it as a work station and sometimes tilt it so the rounds slide to the splitter. I have even thrown the splits in front of the rounds on the trailer as they slide back.🤷♂️Gotta save what’s left of my back😂 Thanks for watching Tom👊🏻

Good looking oak, it’s crazy how dry the standing dead oak is! Nice work!
@toddsoutsideagain4 ай бұрын
Yeah I was shocked when I moisture checked it! I’m betting its diameter had a little something to do with it. We cut a few standing dead back when I started and I was like a lot of people thinking it would be dry. Still about 28-30% It does dry fast after split. This was the one exception that I have found. Appreciate ya watching Todd👊🏻

Woodyard expansion is looking really nice Todd! Lots of sun and good level ground. Another Benjamin 💰 stacked! I’m in the same situation, softball just started up and it’s 3-4 nights a week. But wouldn’t trade it for anything. Have a great week Todd

Going to mow for the first time tomorrow. Your new woodyard is really going to help you and Evan out tremendously!! I agree, split small and get it seasoned. Btw, I ordered a Super Split the other day to go with my pro 28c. As much as I wanted the 17VS, just too much investment and I know I'll be happy with the J model SS. Nice video Todd!!

Looken good Todd . That’s one of the biggest reasons for splitting small even oak will dry over the summer . Mowing grass already ? Everything here just got covered in 10 in of snow a sleet yesterday but it’s supposed to rain an be 50 by Wednesday so back to the mud again .
@toddsoutsideagain4 ай бұрын
Yeah small splits is all we really do. I’ve only had a couple people say they wish it was a little larger splits but they still buy it. I just tell them to stack it tight in the woodstove 😂 If I ever get far enough ahead I will start making some bigger splits for the couple people we have that are buying for heat. I seen your snow has returned😳 Stay warm! Ya can keep all that stuff! Thanks for watching Phil👊🏻

Yeah this new woodyard has been great. The extra room has allowed a bit more of a strategic setup. Going to be real nice when it comes to loading to sell and restocking. Yeah that standing dead oak shocked me with how dry it was. The diameter of the tree made it possible. Thanks for watching J👊🏻🍻

Just sitting here waiting for a sponsored eastonmade or wolf ride to show up in the wood yard, I have never seen a log splitter cycle time slower on the back stroke.
@toddsoutsideagain4 ай бұрын
That would be awesome but not necessary. Yeah I get told that about my splitter often. It still has about a 9-1/2 second cycle time so not too bad for a box store splitter. It has been a good one. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
