Soooooo much great advice. I'm a city slicker trying to turn into a homesteader in the years ahead, and I greatly appreciate the good, thorough knowledge. Thank you!

Great job Terry! I got 4 cord stacked split and ready to burn this season! I wish we had some hard woods to choose from!

If your asking what am I burning? I live in Northern Idaho so I use Mostly Red fir and Larch (Tamarack) They burn nice and hot and it doesn't creosote up as much as say Pine or Hemlock .

Another great vid T! I have split wood since I was 12-parents had a wood burner, axe and bowsaw! I was so happy when I was old enough to run the chainsaw!

Not to break your chops, but you should mention that you should take you ur thumb out from in between the axe & the wood with the contact splitting (I know that the blade projects long enough to not be a problem for this, but that's not always the case).
