Ya know, those "Older History Film reels", used to put me the sleep in school, but yours were really entertaining. Was wondering how you were gonna work around the Disco music. Well done!

I walked around the winding pathways and gardens of Lake Eola Park as a small child in the late 50s and 60s. Haven’t been there in decades.

I always thought the name came from someone watching the card game where the Millenium Falcon was won... that person asked, “wait, who won? Han or Lando?”...

I spoke with the Orlando Historical Society. They said for you to "knock it off" or you'll be "splorin the bottom of Lake Ryan". lol

If the two yahoos blasting disco as they rode around the park on a tandem bike didn't get tossed in the lake, then I should be good to go ;)

Orlando was named for time-traveler Orlando Bloom 😛 also, whose ashes are in those urns around Sperry Fountain? 😂 I was born and raised in Orlando and I lean towards the Shakespeare theory especially because of Rosalind Ave. Great video 👍🏻
I never even thought about where the name of Orlando came from. I’ve wondered that.

I love Lake Eola Park. I just wish they would stop with the piped in music. The ambient sounds of the park are so peaceful without it.

I just figured it's kind of like when people leave the radio on for their dogs when they leave the house. I just assumed it was the keep the swans from wrecking the place while the ranger ran out to Arby's.
