The It Cosmetics CC cream is a holy grail for so many, so I knew I had to get my hands on the brand new ELF Camo CC Cream and out them head to head! My skin type is technically combination, but my t-zone gets super oily, and my chin/bottom half of my face is super dry, so I am the perfect person to test out a foundation for ALL skin types LOL. I use the new full coverage It cosmetics cc cream. I have normal to slightly dry skin. I think its a good idea to go with products like Elf when you are younger, because your skin is not as NEEDY as older skin...ha! I am 56 and really beginning to have the problem of finding a good hydrating foundation that will LAST all day and look as smooth after 8 hours the way a younger person's skin does. Anyway, just my 2 cents!!!

As a foundation I guess they look very similar. But as a skin care I’m not sure they can compare. I love the It Cosmetics for the finish but also for the ingredients. If the point is to add skin care benefits then It cosmetics is a better choice.

I have been using IT CC Cream for 4 years. The price is expensive but it is the only foundation that I could find that worked for my skin. I am definitely gonna try Elf though. Thanks for sharing

Same here. No matter how hard I try, I can even use a face oil and moisturizer underneath, and make up seems to make my skin look horrendous! It looks cakey, with creasing and makes my wrinkles around my eyes stand out and patches of dry, ashey skin stand out. I spend all this money and put in an this effort and time and my face looks like an embarrassing mess. Make up is supposed to make you more confident, but for me, it's opposite. Kind of embarrassing and shoots my confidence levels way down. I dunt know what I'm doing wrong. I follow all the tutorials, tips and tricks. I guess I have skin unlike any others. I want to try this new elf cc cream, but I hope I don't waste more money and end up disappointed as I normally do. Glad to see that I am not alone in this. Frustrating. 😔

Both sides look the same especially since you didn’t prime or set after wear test, in my opinion you looked glowing on the elf side. Loved the look great video 👏👏👏

A little bit of constructive feedback: I think what made it a little difficult judge, was that on your right (our left) side it looked a bit like natural light, and on your left (our right) had more of a yellow cast, so in addition to two different foundations it would be easier to differentiate if the lighting was consistent. Than you for a great video.

One side the lighting was from my mirror which is a warmer light, and the other side light was from an led box. Lighting is such a difficulty for me always!! I will do my best to improve this going forward 🥰

It's so tough to be a small KZbinr because I feel like my videos don't get pushed to people or people do not find them helpful, but this proves all my doubts wrong!!! And I agree - most if the big gurus have perfect skin. I am definitely far from that and like to highlight how products look on skin that is far from flawless! If you are very oily, then you just need to set this and you will be good! My oils started coming through after 4ish hours (and I didn't use a powder). I mean, I love the original CC cream so so much ❤!! It lasts me the full work day, but it’s definitely not as long lasting as Estée Lauder Double Wear, which I love so much as well. And if I need something for a special event or something I will probably use that one. Although the undertone and overall look of my skin is better with CC cream. Fair Ivory is the perfect shade for my pale skin 😊. The only thing is that it starts to separate a little bit after 8 hours. But it has so many great ingredients in it that it’s just perfect. I use it every day.

Thank you so much for this review. I used to use the It as well, but had the same issues as you with the oil. I ended up getting a setting powder from Silk Naturals that worked great with it. I think I got the blur powder. Cheap, but effective. They also have powders for dry skin, sensitive skin, etc. Many indie brands do actually. I have a similar skin type to yours so this was super helpful. Thanks for pointing out about the skin tone thing too. That is my issue with most brands and actually why I got into more indie brands. I have extremely pale, extremely warm skin and most brands seem to think pale means cool. It is a little better now, but not great. Thanks again. You did a great job :)

I have never heard of that brand! I totally agree that indie brands to a far better job with shade ranges and shade inclusivity than the massive makeup brands. The massive ones have NO EXCUSE! I have this one. Look at videos on KZbin to learn how to use properly . On big pimples hold wand on blemish at least 1- 1.5 minutes . I do entire face about 5 slow passes. I 've never used the It CC because it's over my budget, but I always wanted it for the ingredients. I believe the skincare is the reason it became a holy grail. So, apart the fact that they look similar, has the Elf as well skincare ingredients? I mean it has also the same claims for antiaging etc?

The ingredient do differ, but the elf has some great skincare ingredients like Niacinamide, collagen and hyaluronic acid. I think the elf's ingredients are geared toward brightening and hydration, and the IT is geared more towards anti aging!

Hello! Subscribed today. I have a question. I have to order this Elf CC Cream online, it’s sold out in the stores. Actually after a long time of reviewing shades, I picked the two shades you picked. Our skin tone is very similar. My cheeks, chin and forehead can be a bit pink, it comes and goes. Can you suggest and Elf shade for me, probably one of those two. Thank you!

Hello and and thank you SO MUCH for subbing!! I definitely recommend the shade I ended up using, which was 240W since it is really nice and neutral and can work with different undertones! I'm not sure where you purchased this, but if you get it online at Ulta or Target, you can return it after using it if the shade doesn't match you!

My pleasure! I usually apply all go my foundations with a flat "paddle" brush like the one I used here which is the morphe M707. I also love the Morphe Y6 which is a flat top kabuki!

I personally have tried both, and I did not like the Elf one, at least on my skin, it made me super oily even with setting spray/powder. I gave it another chance and it did the same, it oxidized, turn orange, it gave me oily skin and just broke really bad on my skin, I’ll stick to It cosmetics one.

I use the pink one it cosmetics plus illumination and im 53 I love it I have the concealer and the concealer pen with the brightener in it. I can totally see the difference in your two sides the it side looks alot better and more coverage and more natural. Elf is good in a pinch but when you're older the quality of ingredients. Eats alot. Except the fragrance i don't like that.

The elf ingredients are vegan which is a pro! The it cosmetics ingredients are geared towards anti aging and the elf has peptides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid so it also has great skincare benefits!

I think I looked a lot more shiny because of the lighting! I film will super bright lights. The finish was really nice and natural and my natural oils only came through after 3-4 hours!
