SPM Form 5 - Add Maths - Linear Programming (pyq) - Full Demo

This is one of the past year question of Linear Programming for SPM Add Maths Paper 2, Section C. This video will do a full demo for the whole question. Hope it will give you some idea on how to solve this question. you can actually try to put any value for x and y, u will find that u have the same gradient straight line, just different position. :-)

great efforts had put to explain every single point in this topic. Well done. Just my 2-cent. The objective of the question was to determine the maximum profit, we could directly refer to the profit equation and figure out the highest point of y (within the shaded region and from the profit equation itself).

Helix Tan u just move your ruler. normally the last point in the shaded region is your maximum point. Most of time it is a corner. =)

Hi sir, I have a question. If its maximum profit, the coordinate is the last one it touches, right. If its minimum profit, we must move the ruler downwards take the coordinate of point that touches first is it? Or we still need to move up for minimum point? Thank you

Athira Surendran depend where is your line, normally if we want to find minimum point we will move downward (if the line is in the middle), If the line is already at downward, then when you move the rule into the shaded region, it will be the first point you touch. =)

Aaron Chin depend it is min or max. If it want max, then u have to move until the last point in the shaded region. If it wants min, then it will be the first point which touching the shaded region.

Depend on the inequality symbol, If it is bigger or equal, then it will be full line, if it is bigger only, then it will be dash line . 😊

sir isit a must to sub x=0,then y=0 for every question or can sub any suitable value?

it is not a must but it will make your life easier to find the point on the graph but, if the equation is something like y = 2x, u cannot sub x=0 and y=0 you will end up with the same coordinate, then, you cannot draw a straight line so you need to use another value like x = 10, then y = 20 the coordinate will be (10,20) and the other one is (0,0) with these points, you can draw a straight line
