“When my jury didn’t have one Mexican”, that line hits home man. My dad at the age of 15 got a 250 year sentence and his 2 white friends that were also involved both only got 6 years. This happened in 1994 here in Tx, Williamson County. He went in a month before my birth and it’s been a little over 26 year he’s been locked up. Here is the real kicker tho, the judge personally knew him so that’s illegal in a court room AND his prosecutor Ken Anderson went to prison a few years after for adding charges on MULTIPLE cases, including my pops. All that shit was swept under the rug, these Devils really know how to throw away the key. Oh this leads me to ask you do a request on Plies-100 years. I always believed in SPM, that dude wasn’t guilty but one thing just doesn’t add up for me. He said there ain’t one Mexican on the jury. Well there is something called pre trial jury selection. The prosecution has 6 peremptory challenges while the defence has 10. This means striking out jurors with No questions asked. Only difference is, prosecution cannot strike out base on race alone, the defence can tho. Now the Latino population in Houston is 45%. Let’s say 20% is undocumented. That still leaves around 36% Latino. Ok now let’s say a third of these fellas caught a misdemeanours theft of felony in the past. SPM has the money right. Why didn’t his attorney choose black and Latino jury? All you need is 4 jury saying nah it’s a hung jury. Statistically unless he was super unlucky or his lawyer is terrible, how can there be no Mexicans on the jury? That being said tho, I still believed in the homie. Even if he did it, 18 years is more than enough he should be out now
