1. take a fat grip sleeve off of it, and it won't be near the same width. 2. The Glock 43 was originally designed to be a Slimline pocket pistol. You are the one that modified it to be bulky, and cumbersome. 3. Not everyone has gorilla hands, so some people prefer Slimline handguns. Keep in mind I do not own a 43 So don't accuse me of fanboying. Every problem you mentioned in this video was caused by your own modifications and lack of understanding.

Thank you. Separate the slide from the frame on both of them, and lay them on a flat surface side by side and it will be perfectly clear that the differences are significant. It IS a noticeable difference for IWB. And for those of us without gorilla hands, while "feel" is arbitrary, the slimline guns are much easier to wrap the hand around. The grip difference is clearly felt...hand the two pistols to the same person and one or the other will be preferred. If there was no difference, no one would prefer one or the other.

@@spnfirearms if you are going to have just one gun then get the 19. But the 43 is great when wearing elastic waste gym shorts type pants. The 43 will go in the pocket without pulling down your pants. Me, I have them all. Mostly I carry full size or even tactical size in a cross chest tactical bag. If you put a rubber grip sleeve on your 43, it doesn't make sense. I sold my 43 and picked up a 26... But honestly the 43 is so much nicer to carry all day long. Especially with an Ets 7rd flush fit, and +1 giving you 8, or the many +1 minimalist extensions... It would be worth it to me to give up the extra rounds... And with the new 9rd mags it's even better. I like the 26 because I have a 17, and 19 and tons of different mags.... But if I were to only have one pistol for concealed carry I would go with a g43 no problem and not think twice. I always end up carrying my 19 now instead of my 26 anyways... But I always loved carrying the 43. So nice and thin.. it just disappears. Although I do love how the 26 shoots... I shoot it the most accurately out of any of the Glocks besides maybe a g30. But if you've got a g43 your good to go. People all around the world can't even have a knife to protect themselves.... So be happy with what you've got and shoot it and know your holds at different distances. There is so much deuschbaggery in the gun community if you don't have the cool kid gear. Just master what you have and don't worry about the wanna be ninjas. Love the videos.

I actually like the 43. I own several Glocks and I find myself carrying my 43 or my guccied up 17 if not a 1911. My 26 sits in my safe. It always pinches my pinky finger when I shoot it. I have no difficulty concealing my 17, even with the red dot and flashlight. My 43 is very comfortable when I jog. If you want more rounds, get a 43X.
@phlooke

@@corgidad5243 Does the new Gen 26 and 27 not come with the 1 mag that has the oem Glock baseplate with the extended pinky grip? so it's almost like holding a G26/27 with a G/19/G23 magazine.... But with an extended grip on the front side of the magazine at the bottom.
@stephenschindler916
@stephenschindler916 Жыл бұрын
I disagree. I carry a G43 off duty, with the normal magazine, because it has little to no printing. When you add the shield mag, or any other extension, it adds to the visibility signature. The extra mag I carry in my pocket does have a TTI +3 extension though. Obviously because once I need that, I’m not concerned about people recognizing I’m armed.
@deucedeuce1572
@deucedeuce1572 3 ай бұрын
Yeah, the extended mags are perfect for backup mags. I don't see the point to adding them to your carry gun. Maybe a +1 if you really need a pinky extension and don't want to waste that extra length by leaving it empty... but I just don't get having a smaller, more concealable gun and then just adding extra length and weight to it, making it harder to carry and conceal, which defeats the purpose of getting the smaller gun in the first place.

@@breckenhelsley4831 Can't go wrong. I'm really glad Shield Arms fixed their magazine problems. They had a really bad oversight on the length of the magazines (front to back) in their first two versions that they finally fixed in their V3... and now you just can't go wrong with them. PSA also makes 15rd magazines for the 43X/48, but I'm not sure if they're as good. I don't know anyone that's tried them except for in the PSA gun they were made for (I forgot the model, but it might be the Micro Dagger). Their magazine is a hybrid magazine that's steel in the back and polymer in the front. Whether good or bad, I think it was a good idea that was worth a shot. It makes manufacturing them a hell of a lot easier and cheaper compared to making all steel magazines. (Like OEM Glock steel lined polymer magazines for example).

@deucedeuce1572 yeah I was pretty wary of getting the shield arms hut a buddy convinced me. I ran about 3 or 4 mags through it the other day and no jams. The reputation has apparently been repaired. I haven't heard of the PSA ones, I assume they aren't as refined
@deucedeuce1572
@deucedeuce1572 2 ай бұрын
@@breckenhelsley4831 I heard the PSA one's started off with problems like the Shield Arms one's, but I think they fixed them. PSA is always good at fixing their mistakes. They're the OEM mags for the Micro Dagger and the Micro Dagger is said to be very reliable... so I assume that means that the magazines are reliable also. I just checked the ratings/reviews now, because I'm curious and don't want to assume... but it appears that they do have extremely high reviews (5 out of 5). You don't really save a lot of money though, because they're still $30/each. You don't need to have a steel mag release to use them either though, so it could save money. I'm just not sure if you can use the hybrid magazines with the Shield magazines, because the Shield magazines require the metal mag release... but the metal mag release might damage the polymer part of the PSA magazines. There are many aluminum magazine releases for sale for all Glock models though... and none of them are known to damage the magazines as far as I know though. Polymer on Polymer is usually preferred, but it might be worth a shot. Might be best to just use one or the other though and not both at the same time. The Shield Arms mags are definitely a redeeming feature (upgrade) for the G43X and G48. They're excellent guns on their own, but they can't really compete with 10rd magazines... but with the 15rd magazines it really brings them to the top. I hope some inexpensive 15rd magazines come out for them soon though, because one of the best things about Glock handguns is the option for really cheap, but still good, reliable magazines.

So for those watching; take note of the grip sleeve on the 43. When that’s removed the width difference between the 43 and 26 is a lot more substantial and really shows the benefits of the 43 1 inch width. Makes for a gun that you’ll forget you’re carry. That’s both an upside and a downside because forgetting you have something to defend yourself could be a liability (Or it couldn’t, who’s to say your memory won’t just “kick in” when approached in a dire scenario. It may just depend on the person.) but you also need to think about comfort too, because getting into a self defense situation is low and may never even happen to you. Might be better to go with the gun that allows you to go about your day without getting in the way or being annoying. Just stuff to think about.

I carry a very holster worn, early Gen 3-23 40 caliber. I did buy a 43 a couple of years ago. It rusted extremely bad inside after only being carried for 2 months. I maintained it just like I have all my Glocks, and none of them ever had rust issues. My 23 has never even had a hint of rust. I also have a Gen 4 19 I bought new. One of my son's has been carrying it daily for a year now. He was carrying a Taurus G2C, but he loves the 19. No rust issues with it so far. I'm not sure why the 43 rusted so badly. I have heard some of them were not treated properly.

A lot will take the first thing they hear and treat it as if they are suddenly experts on the subject (something I learned watching Paul Harrell). 43x is great!! But if u already got g19/17 mags, the 26 is the way to go I’d say. Edit: if you want a multi caliber option, get a Glock 27, same size as the 26, but it’s .40 cal. Then you can buy a 9mm conversion barrel and u essentially can shoot two different calibers in one gun and only changing barrel and mags obviously

I've carried a clock 26 Gen. 3 for almost 20 years now. I have many others but the 26 is comfortable and has enough rounds (12). Plus always keep a backup mag anyways.

@@roundone7954 yes i can’t stress it enough…. it’s comfortable and you feel confident knowing it’s fully concealable , enough stopping power , and can have up to 30 rd’s with just two 15 rd mags

Unless it is a Jimenez. Talk to my buddy that had a .22 Jimenez in a holster in his front pocket. Made a 2 ft jump and the gun discharged into his upper thigh.

Extra benefit of G26 is the magazine platform compatability of the rest of the 9mm glocks. Just in case you encounter the whole hood at the same time and need that extendo 🤓

No the thinner profile is HUGE for appendix carry especially with tighter fitting clothing

As a man blessed with baby girl hands, the slimmer grip of the 43 makes a dramatic difference ergonomically. Shootability makes the 43 superior to the 26 in this case

I feel that. I have small hands and generally agree. Like I can't do czs but hi powers fit perfect. The 43x for some reason was too slim and ended up liking normal Glocks better. I don't carry Glocks tho cuz I like metal guns as the weight reduces recoil.

I watched this and still picked up my glock 19 with a concealed carry appendix holster before going to the store. I dont mind the 19 even though it weighs more. I can conceal the 19 really well and would rather have the 19 when out and about because it fits my hand perfectly and it's a gun I've gotten very very comfortable with. I feel like whatever midsized handgun you own that you are the most confident and accurate with is what you should always carry.
