Will he mention the thermocline?.... I’m an amateur, but during the summer in the lakes I’ve always been told to always stay above the thermocline bc there will be hardly any fish at all below the thermocline......

He mentions it in his book, just as you and I think of it: as the bottom limit for depth. None of this changes because of the thermocline. It just shifts the depth in which the fish will take sanctuary.

Those are man made clouds
