I just herd stories of them 302’s splitting in half at 600hp. So I found a fresh rebuilt core small block Chevy and threw it in there. Turned out better than I expected

I would highly recommend upgrading the oil system before anything else, been having to replace a lot of the 7.3s lately due to oil starvation and eating the camshaft, and that is stock form with no upgrades

FYI, Ford was using the skirted block with cross bolted mains back in the '60s with the hi performance FE motors and I think the Y blocks before them were skirted too. They came out with the skirted and cross bolted 6 bolt bottom end on the mod motors I think in '91 or so, so that setup definitely isn't unique to the LS and certainly was in the Ford parts catalog for a very long time before the GM LS engines came out. I think this is the first time they did the 6 bolt mains with a pushrod motor though.

You may want to consider building a boom for your forklift to install/remove engines. Especially the big ones. An engine lift has a radial lift that makes the weight go farther out as it's lowered and increases the chance of hitting something. Plus the speed is hard to control. A forklift is a direct horizontal pick, and has tilt in and out to move the load. And the speed is usually easier to control. Just a thought. Love the videos. Keep up the good work.

Wow I’m excited to see you work on this fox body! My dads friend had a 5.0 hatchback and he does sadly he died. It sat for a few years so his other friend gave it to him for free, he is working on it and it runs perfectly fine. So he bought a parts foxbody hatch back that was eclipso green so he cut a piece of the roof off and fit it perfectly and welded it. He also used the doors and the trunk. And that’s about it, I tell you more next time!

I bought a coup mustang like this brand new in 86. It was a blast to drive even though it went through rear tires pretty quickly 😏! It had the z axel option along with manual transmission. It out ran the Gt Mustangs, the Camaros and the Corvettes! I would love to have that car back now😁

The mustang build is going to be pretty serious. I don't known if it's been talked about on the channel yet, but the mustang is getting a rear diff from the same guys that built the one for ruby, Tin Soldier Racecars. It's been in the works for a bit. If they're putting one of their diffs, they mean buisness.

@@jonathoncouchey7151 Remember, the LS also shares a lot of characteristics with the Windsor engines as well. Firing order, equal spaced ports, center (#3) thrust bearing, etc. People calling it a copy isn't really fair. It has traits from the LS as well as several other Ford engines from recent times, as well as 2+ decades ago. Also, people don't realize this engine was originally designed around 2007 or so. It never got the green light, and that's too bad for us car guys. Better late than never though. I like Ford, and own many of them, but I am not a big fan of the modular engines. The 2 valves last forever, the 4 cam engines are awesome power per cubic inch, but I'm a pushrod guy with a BBF in his race car. The mod motors are so damn massive, they don't fit in anything. The 4.6 2 valve in my daily driver Grand Marquis is physically larger than my BBF engines, not kidding. It'll run a long damn time though, and sounds better than a shitty 4 banger. It could have been so much better. It's going to get replaced with a Coyote or 7.3 in a couple years.
