Genuinely, "Canary should stay above ground." just works very nicely because it's a bit of a sideways inversion and those tend to play strongly into the creepy vibes.

31:07 I think the only reason TMP main cast seems to have better chemistry is because we hear them all interact from the very start. In TMA, the first half of S1 we mostly heard Jon with rare interactions between him and one of the assistants. By the time we heard all of the cast interact more, the story was already going full-speed and then Sasha was gone, etc. So I think the format of TMP allows to introduce the dynamics between all main characters right away.

... With how often it happens I really shouldn't be at all surprised at this point but Johnny does not at all look like what I was "expecting" him to look like. And like always I have no real idea what I was "expecting" him to look like other than "Not what he looks like". Maybe it's the beard? I could see The Archivist with a moustache, maybe even a goatee, but the full beard, while magnificent, was unexpected. Meanwhile Alex looks almost perfect for what little I have envisioned. Again not really sure what is "off" but for the most part as expected. As much as I wasn't really expecting anything. Also, geeze, it's been so long since I've heard these voices. I didn't recognize them at first. I totally would have backed the Kickstarter but I missed it... by a few months. I had just been too deep in RealLife (tm) and not heard about it until it was too late. 10:50 I mean, I wouldn't put it past The Archivist to be able to change someone's birthday. That seems like it might be more Stranger, or maybe Spiral, than Watcher but even so I bet he could swing it somehow. Hum, no real idea what "DPHW" can stand for. It's obviously some sort of identification system and I'm guessing the "D" is "Digital" but I don't know about the rest. I really do like "Thank you for waiting, your fear is important to us." I can see it as some sort of "help line" for people who have had encounters with monsters with the "people" who run the line are some sort of being like The Eye that feeds on secondhand trauma but is just up front about it instead of hiding and they actually do sort of kinda of help by literally "eating" the associated trauma. Maybe less of a horror thing than a comedy thing. Two Protocol tag line ideas: "Fear is not a bug, it's a feature." and "We're hiring, fear not required." As for "You don't have to be afraid to work here" maybe change "afraid" to "scared"? It doesn't hit quite right though so yeah. Well this was a fun watch, thanks!

Agreed on Jonny not looking anything like Jon, The Archivist. I always imagined Jon as rather tall, thin, and angular in face. I've seen lots of fan art with him having long hair; which I've never imagined him having as the first season really gave me the image of an up tight academic that's trying to be a bit more posh them he really is. I also always imagined him younger them he's revealed to be in ep. 161. Alex looks *very* much like how I imagined Martin.
