Omg guys I just thought of something. So Kinger said something about 7 years of computer science, and I think he might be the person who either worked on the game or the headset that got them all there. So I have a theory. In the real world, perhals Pomni really WAS Kinger's daughter! They have the perfect age gap for it. And perhaps Queenie was the mother who got trapped with Kinger. And now unbeknownst to Pomni, she has finally found her parents after they disappeared years ago, without realizing.

Oh god, I just realized “you look beautiful honey” was because the image in the creature’s mouth reminded Kinger of his wife when she abstracted. Also does this mean Pomni might turn of the lights to calm Kinger down when he starts getting too crazy? Like they are all in a high stress situation and trying not to freak out until Pomni sees a light switch and goes over to turn it off, Kinger takes a moment to catch his breath and is able to check on everyone and calmly brainstorm solutions with the others until Jax starts flipping the lights on and off to mess with him as Kinger starts flipping in and out of sanity.
