@@RenegadeScooter you can cheese it by activating the timer but not sliding, just walk to the right side of the vine and hop over the slide, but dont land on it, then walk to the teleport box and warp to the bottom and beat the challenge in like 20 seconds

By far the hardest level. I usually avoid it completely. Between the fucking tikis and the lost scouts and the puzzle in the caves and that awful KELP SLIDE TIME CHALLENGE. The HARDEST. However Mr. Krab's dream is by far the hardest moment in the game

This was like the hardest level in the game! I used to just skip Mermaid Man's time challenge with a glitch I've found, at least in the PS2 version. If you can somehow get back on the platform after getting on the slide (and starting the timer), go back into the warp box and you'll be taken to the end of the slide! Walk to the edge near the vine and it'll say you've "beaten" his time! xD You still have to finish the slide once to get the other box opened though... Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work at the Sand Mountain slides.

Okay its really hard to explain ( hey I am 15 too high five buddy ) basically before a sharp U turn literally jump to the other side ( meaning where the U turn leads ) and you will land facing the put of death, then quickly jump to the direction of the path. Its hard to explain.... the time isn't the problem but getting the whole way without dying haha

For those who want Kelp Forest to be a fast and fun speed segment instead of a slow and tedious stage, learn to cruise boost. Then use that to get to the gate to the left of the Taxi sign and do the stage backwards. It's a speedrun trick but it's much easier and more fun than regular strats

Me and my siblings could never get to this part of the game. Mostly because as youngins it was like almost 10 PM and our mom would come in the room telling us to turn the game off and go to bed for school in the morning. But I do know that this level in particular be having everybody's brains scramblin, especially when it came to those tiki puzzles just outside and inside the cave, and the amount of effort tryin to beat Mermaid Man's time record down the vine slide afterwards.
