Dude... I wasn't ready for this. Say what you want about my maturity, I watched SpongeBob all the way up until I left for the military in 2018, and ended up not having time for cartoons anymore. its because we grew up with them compared to the original song, we connect deeper with characters we spend so much time getting to know, that it makes it hit that much harder, like when mordecai sings love songs, or plankton singing about something he wants, just knowing the character makes it that much more relatable.
