Even to Gary, none of the deeds threatening Gary to have his breakfast, threatening Gary to take a bath, threatening Gary to work out, refusing to feed Gary, none of them better than letting Puffy Fluffy, as they are all equally abusive, and A Pal for Gary shows SpongeBob is remorseless for his horrible pet abuse of the past. He didn't want Gary to have a partner to have fun with, just a killer to help SpongeBob abuse Gary. This still doesn't subvert SpongeBob threatening Gary to eat dessert and liking it and then not feeding Gary, threatening Gary to take a bath, and threatening him to exercise(NOTHING DOES).

I agree with both the top spots. Spongebob really was a hero to Bikini Bottom at that point, and he definitely showed examples of bad pet ownership. I still don't understand how he blamed Gary the entire time. As for Puffy Fluffy himself, a classmate I had in my Freshman year of high school said that the reason he acted the way he did is because he is most likely a piranha. That's probably what the woman meant when she said that they can be very unstable, especially around other pets.

Oh my gosh this episode was epic!! I also love this longer video format and I know it must be really difficult to pull off but it worked fabulously and always does!! I also appreciate such a detailed list of all of our favorite’s sponge’s deeds from evil to good and everything in between! Also I have a small theory, I think SpongeBob has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder!) now let’s start with the obsessive compulsive disorder first, which I think can be somewhat confirmed judging by almost all of his bad deeds because if you look at them closely (ignoring the ones that are honestly kind of flanderizing to his character) most of them are from either from one of two things, people pleasing (we’ll get back to that later) or perfectionism. For instance SpongeBob often fails his boating exams because of his extreme fear of failure, or a fear of not being perfect, it’s the same whenever he hears Squidward might be put as employee of the month, which draws both from the obsessive perfectionism and competitiveness, another example I can give is whenever SpongeBob trains Gary well past his breaking point in a attempt to win this competition. He is also seen to be almost overly emotional when he thinks he’s upset someone which also ties in quite nicely to the obsessive compulsive disorder guilt. For example: whenever he cheats in boating school I believe he is so distracted by his guilt he couldn’t even focus in on it, as well as often bursting into tears anytime he hurts someone’s feelings. And although it’s been a bit since I’ve watched the show it does seem like SpongeBob although enjoying trying new things he can become obsessed in a unhealthy way, for instance playing the paddle ball game for two weeks straight (at least I think it was two weeks), and take this with a grain of salt considering it’s rather flanderizing of his character but whenever he waits by the mail box for days for his toy, or whenever he shows up to work every single day even whenever Mr krabs treats him poorly, and yes the last one could be seen as an employee simply loving his job and I do think that’s a large part of it but the sadness he feels whenever he has to leave work even just for the weekend suggests something a little deeper as well. We also see the devastation and anger whenever SpongeBob is not promoted to manager in one of the movies, exhibiting perfectionism, need for control. And speaking of his need for control, although from the outside it doesn’t seem like he’s too controlling if we see how he treats squidward he is actually quite the same, he desperately wants squidward to hang out with him, and to be happy, and is uncaring if squidward doesn’t want to be, exhibiting a need for control, he wants to control squidward’s emotions and won’t take no for an answer, which is of course him trying to be helpful but failing rather miserably. Another example of being controlling is whenever he keeps the whole town in a glass jar because he didn’t want to make mermaid man upset that he stole his belt. More examples of SpongeBob controlling squidward include the episode whenever SpongeBob finds out that squidward hasn’t eaten a krabby patty and keeps pestering him for the rest of the day about it, with of course isn’t terrible as he lets it go whenever squidward says he doesn’t like them but can be construed as slightly controlling. Another thing is that SpongeBob does seem to show obsessive thoughts, in one episode whenever he accidentally breaks his butt he refuses to leave his house for fear, showing the obsession: what if I could hurt? And the following compulsion: if I stay inside I will be safe, so I will always stay inside. And of course being nervous after a injury is normal, but it’s the obsession of it that makes it into a disorder. Of course, this isn’t negative by any means, OCD is not something that means your a bad person, in fact you can be rather kinder as someone with it because of the excessive guilt you feel. With that being said now let’s move onto the ADHD, which is seen perfectly in he other aspect of his bad deeds (and also his good ones) his desire to be a people pleaser, it is shown time and time again that SpongeBob would do ANYTHING to make his friends happy, and being a people pleaser happens to be something that commonly happens with a person (or sponge) affected by ADHD. Another thing is his extreme distraction in boating lessons, and while yes as said before one of the problems is his anxiety another is his problems with getting distracted at every last angle, from literally everything often causing him to get into a wreck. We also see on numerous episodes that SpongeBob seems to occasionally have trouble sleeping, which is another common symptom of ADHD because of how fast your thoughts move. And speaking of how fast thoughts are moving for our little sponge, we see in some episodes (for instance whenever Mr krabs sells SpongeBob’s soul for 63 cents) that he is very talkative, often switching from one topic to another in a heartbeat. A person with ADHD is also more likely to have twice the amount of emotions as a neurotypical person, which would explain both SpongeBob’s excessive crying whenever something upsets him, but also his extreme joy whenever he’s happy. Another thing is the difficulty to actually get anything done with adhd, and I think the best example of this is whenever SpongeBob has to write a exam for boating school and instead looks at everything else he could be doing, and on the other side of the spectrum there’s also hyper focusing, where you cannot stop something once you started and using a example from earlier I think the paddle game is another amazing example of hyper focus as well as Obessive compulsive tendencies. Another thing is SpongeBob’s clear rejection sensitivity shown in near every aspect, he automatically thinks someone is rejecting them even if they are most certainly not, and rejection sensitive while being it’s own separate thing does commonly happen for people with ADHD. Yikes, this is a very large comment considering I was just talking about the mental health of a fictional yellow sponge but anyway, I hope you enjoyed! Okay, sure, THAT can be an exception of us feeling sympathy for SpongeBob - HE DIDN'T DESERVE BUTT INJURIES. Sandy and Patrick made matters worse in the episode by forcing him to come out, thus rejecting that as a good quality from them both. This is one of the times where SpongeBob WAS IN THE RIGHT. He wasn't hurting anyone like he was most of the time. He was hurt which isn't normal for SpongeBob.

For bad/evil (most in general are on bad side its rare if spongebob has done anything cruel or flat out evil) Spongebobs dark/evil/abrasive side going around insulting everyone. In the abrasive side episode. All his jealousy/insecurity/hyper competitive moments. -jealous and competitive of larry for getting sandys attention -getting competitive against patrick in the frycook games. -competing against squidward for the employee of the month award -envious of patrick when he got his driver's license -jealous of patrick when grandma was paying attention to him and treating him with more baby type love. -jealous of squidward when squidwards personality changes for the better and he does better in everything, gains positive attention over spongebob - in "the original fry cook" he felt leftout over jim. The original fry cook. ETC. But overrall spongebob is a very sweet caring good natured character, which can make him so likeable but everyone has flaws his is his emotions and his competitive natured. Hes done so many good deeds its hard to have only one video saying them all. :)

Even if he does be shown doing genuinely good things, they are just done only for SpongeBob to get attention. Regardless most of his good deeds are little to not genuine.

Well, the stalker thing was cemented in the episode Mall Girl Pearl. In several of the background scenes Squidward is seen walking through the mall, minding his own business and Spongebob is shown hiding behind pillars, following him. Later in the episode he is shown straight up chasing a screaming Squidward. And let's not forget "Sandy's Rocket" where he and Patrick break into peoples homes, assault and kidnap them because they thought they were on the moon, after stealing Sandy's rocket. And also the "whirlybird incident" mentioned at the beginning.

SpongeBob’s altruism towards Gary is unmatched!

Do I really need to say this again? SpongeBob didn't have altruism for Gary, and even if he did, it is ungenuine and sarcastic. Remember these episodes; Opposite Day, where he becomes a jerk to Gary in the beginning, yelling at Gary to have his "holiday spirit". Sandy's Rocket, where he kidnaps Gary, and manipulated Patrick into believing he's an "alien projecting their memories onto the environment". Dying for Pie, where he expresses his true nature to Gary, and forces him to eat his dessert and like it(even though he said this in front of Squidward, but it still is SpongeBob secretly being hostile to Gary). Gary Takes a Bath, where he harshly treats Gary and forces him to take a bath. The Great Snail Race, where he overworks Gary and competes against Squidward to rub Gary's 'hard work' in his face. Despite racing down the track and apologizing, it is still ungenuine. He was happy someone would take care of Gary instead of SpongeBob. He also didn't even show genuine remorse for verbally abusing Sandy. Sandy HAD to teach him a lesson for bullying BOTH Sandy and Gary, as well as Squidward, even though Squidward got through it at the end. Have You Seen This Snail?, where he neglects Gary AGAIN! He refused to feed Gary and intentionally waited ten days to find Gary, and by the end admitted that he shouldn't have looked for Gary, and said his meowing was making it hard for him to forget him. Waiting, where he is mean to everyone, including Gary, Patrick, and Sandy. Specifically here, he wouldn't feed Gary. Grooming Gary, where he tortures Gary to go to a place where the other tortured pets went. Near the end, Gary finally snaps and stands up to SpongeBob for his animal abuse. He also get other animals to stand up to their abusive owners. A Pal for Gary, where SpongeBob is sad that Gary is happy, so much so that he attempts to do anything he can to ruin Gary's life by getting a dangerous pet, knowing it would be harmful to Gary, interrupted his show without thinking, scolded Gary for his(SpongeBob's) enjoyment and to avoid being caught yellow-handed supporting Fluffy Puffy(like like the stepmother and stepsisters treating Cinderella horribly), and claimed he was still friends with Fluffy puffy, as he called for him to "COME BACK!" After Gary saved his life, SpongeBob gives no manners for Gary's kindness. At the end, he brings him to the Krusty Krab, once again using sarcasm to his advantage. Mr. Krabs abuses Gary while hiring him. SpongeBob knows this will be perfect for him, because Mr. Krabs can not only abuse Squidward, BUT he can also abuse Gary, which is also something SpongeBob does. BELIEVE ME, SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs enjoy watching people suffer, even together. Gary and Squidward aren't the only examples. Even when Squidward chokes onto SpongeBob's 'love', or when Squidward is beaten up by kids(only Plankton sympathizes for Squidward) in Mermaid Man vs. SpongeBob. They also attempt to poison the health inspector and bury his body. SpongeBob was shown shivering like he's done too many crimes in life, according to Cinian's Mass Murderer Theory. Planet of the Jellyfish, where after SpongeBob leaves for work, and tells Gary and the jellien to stay out of trouble in his rarely polite manner, the jellien makes a clone out of Gary. SpongeBob only notices about everyone else being captured, but throughout the episode, SpongeBob never mentions Gary, and never ever goes home to save him nor protect him. After freeing people at the Krusty Krab from the evil jellien overlord, it's unclear whether even Gary was freed or not, because we never see his house or SpongeBob go back after coming back to the Krusty Krab in disguise.

Spongebob is very kind hearted he rarely does anything bad but I do remember that he did pretend to be Squidward so much that Squidward wasn't able to sell his house and in one episode he made Squidward move and he also made him go to the future and the past once. And I remember he bothered Squidward because he thought Squidward was his best friend and he didn't want Patrick around and in the fools in April episode he did some pranks that made Squidward mad. I do remember the nasty patty but Mr. Krabs was mostly responsible for that. And I remember that he was mean about Texas and he also was mean to Sandy about the squirrel jokes.

Think about it: SpongeBob's flanderization in season 6 is equivelant(and I mean similar) to Mike Myers' Cat in the Hat in 2003. Both characters at both times are very nasty. They both trespass, they both annoy, and they aren't even their classical selves(quote unquote, in SpongeBob's case). They also convince people like Sally, Conrad, the Fish, Thing One and Thing Two, Patrick, and Squidward to be their partners-in-crime.

What about "GARY YOU ARE GONNA FINISH THAT DESSERT AND YOU ARE GONNA LIKE IT"? That was not funny, that was still animal abuse UNSUBVERTED. Poor Gary threatened to take a bath and tortured by SpongeBob in "Gary Takes a Bath" WHAT ABOUT THAT?! UNSEBVERTED, UNREMORSEFUL, SpongeBob HAS NO APOLOGIES for this abusive attitude. SpongeBob overworking poor Gary!!!!!!!!!!!!! While supposedly remorseful and supposedly ending up happy, was righteously punished by Sandy Cheeks, as he wasn't really redeemable in that episode. SpongeBob refused to eat Gary and intentionally waited for ten days, faking sympathy or remorse, and just trying to find him to stop finding him, and when Gary found SpongeBob, he said "Gary your meowing is making it hard for me to forget you" genuinely unsubverted. He wasn't really happy to find Gary and reunite with Gary because he doesn't become better. SpongeBob tried to ruin Gary's life by having Fluffy Puffy kill him but failed. He like every other time neglects Gary and felt NO remorse up to this day.

😦😧😨😰😥😢 yikes! don't forget there are other people that pretend to be good most of the time and cause danger in the cartoon world. One example would be Bugs Bunny. Only on rare occasions does he genuinely do good stuff for others(eg. saving earth from being blown). There's also Tom & Jerry. Jerry does the and stuff most of the time to Tom and rarely gets karma. Tom is getting karma most of the time, as he is shown being more truly villainous than Jerry(but regardless they both do acts to both moral sides). They are also not scapegoats(with the exception of being attacked for protecting a baby). They are shown to cause messes everywhere they go.

In "Patty Caper" they accuse Squidward of stealing the secret ingredient, causing him to yell at them "GET OUT!". They were angry at him like they shouldn't be. In "friendiversary" he annoys Squidward and gets creepy. He uses sarcasm saying good things when he's hiding his sadism to Squidward. Squidward tries to stop SpongeBob from being a bully and torturing him for once. "SB-129" showcases SpongeBob and Patrick annoying Squidward and ruining his day, from the past, the present, and the future. In "Something Smells" he and Patrick said "we stink!" and hug him leaving him concerned. So yeah, the show has been flandered before season 6 and before season 4. Would you feel bad for SpongeBob or Squidward?

He destroyed those so he could prevent himself from feeling happy and this "happy" Squidward claimed to be was maniacal/wicked instead of joyful/optimistic like SpongeBob, not to mention, AGAIN, he said he "didn't want a HAPPIEST MEMORY!" There were so many things wrong with the episode, that there should be a goof video about it, including the one at the end where SpongeBob is smiling instead of feeling concerned; Squidward wasn't trying to celebrate his "happiest memory" of SpongeBob's narcissism, he wanted to destroy it.

I've got something. Are you ready? Let's say Squidward was bored, and SpongeBob breaks into his house, introducing himself. Squidward tells him to leave because he came in without asking. SpongeBob holds him up with his spatula, then stands on a ball, holding many Krabby Patties and ingredients, then he suddenly holds more, and more, until he falls. Squidward would scold SpongeBob for causing a mess in his house. SpongeBob refuses to leave and brings Patrick over. Patrick offers a handshake, to which Squidward rejects, and SpongeBob tells him Patrick is tame and loves playing chase. SpongeBob and Patrick play tag with each other in Squidward's house, and Squidward would be concerned, and stop SpongeBob and Patrick from wrecking his house again. He gets a net and catches SpongeBob and Patrick for good. Then let's say... Unlike the Cat in the Hat, SpongeBob and Patrick just leave the house with a "thank you" and don't come back to clean up Squidward's house. They leave Squidward miserable. His house is a wreck, everything is on the floor and so are the Krabby Patties. Which character would you side with then? SpongeBob and Patrick? Or Squidward? I'm pretty sure you'd pick the latter(Squidward).

Not to mention SpongeBob was heartless to Gary from Season 1 to Season 8. Remember these episodes I mentioned? OPPOSITE DAY DYING FOR PIE GARY TAKES A BATH THE GREAT SNAIL RACE HAVE YOU SEEN THIS SNAIL? WAITING A PAL FOR GARY PLANET OF THE JELLYFISH And he has been heartless to Squidward, more likely grown heartless in the show. He is constantly seen annoying Squidward in episodes like "Naughty Nautical neighbors" where he and Patrick send bubble messages to each other that trigger Squidward to put an end to it. I know you could say that Squidward was in the wrong, but SpongeBob and Patrick were on the sides of his house near the back window, and in "That Sinking Feeling" they play tag in Squidward's yard as well as their own, denying they played in his yard too. In season 2's episode "Squid Ville" SpongeBob and Patrick are responsible for driving Squidward away by playing with reef blowers, saying "they're on his side" when they carelessly blew Squidward's stuff back to destroy his house. While they do try to apologize, they do it just to annoy Squidward again in "Club SpongeBob". They are karma Houdini making Squidward miserable. They respect the conch that gives Squidward nothing, making them selfish. In the 2nd episode of the show, "Reef Blower" SpongeBob makes Squidward's life miserable with playing with a reef blower. ALL JUST BECAUSE OF A TINY SHELL!
