I love how there is just a pneumatic tube that goes from the Chum Bucket to Spongebob's house. Its just so silly and funny.

What seems to be playing a big part in making the cutscenes seem strange is bad sound design. There is practically no environmental sounds, out of place vocal lines and a jarring soundtrack that's playing throughout.
