Primark is an Irish company, it’s always been called Penney’s in Ireland but they had to change the name when they expanded outside Ireland because JCPenny in the US had copyright

Primark originated in Ireland. When it went over to England the store couldn’t be called Penneys because of JC Penneys for copyright so primark was it’s name change 😊
