@@GoodBoyIsGood his bottom note is I believe an E2 which is pretty low but you don't necessarily have to be a bass or anything. This actor sounds like he's probably a baritone; I'm a baritenor (low tenor range with a strong lower register) and E2 is the very lowest note in my effective range. So no, you don't necessarily have to have a low voice! I've seen actors play Perch and modify the low note.
