This would work with the "choose your seeds" music on the DS
@pvzmariosonica8fan2 жыл бұрын
But the "choose your seeds" music doesn't have a variant that could be used for the "A-minor" segment like this theme does. REDSC0UT pointed out I could have used the roof theme. At first I thought it would only be possible with this, but then I decided I might do it with roof because it does have a third variant, being the PvZ2 Modern Day "Mid-Wave B" theme. I could also _maybe_ do "Zombies on your Lawn" as the PvZ2 Modern Day final wave theme is a remix of that...

I've listened back to Graze the Roof on my 3DS and the closest I got was the "piano" being like... an octave off from what they should be? But no notes I could tell were actually off. What likely happened is that PvZ on the DS, being legitimately one of the most impressive feats from a technical standpoint, AND was one of the first versions of the game actually worked on, ended up with a fair share of issues stemming from being completed in a dev cycle totally separate to the PC version. Hell, if you've looked at the developer art found in the leaked playtester builds, you notice something very distinctive about it, and that is that it shares the DS art style. This implies, at least to me, that they switched to the PC, and then later completed their incomplete DS version as a "port", despite them being technically two different games.

@@xX_Pokeman_Xx I’m fairly certain the beta art was mostly just placeholder art and wasn’t intended to resemble what we got.

Unpopular opinion: DS version sounds completely good and perfectly matches with the 8 bit theme and style they were going for when making that version of the game for it.
@toaster_rtx18292 жыл бұрын
There is no “8 bit theme and style” they just compressed everything to fit the DS. I grew up with the DS port and absolutely adore it, but to be honest they did the music a bit dirty, there are plenty of great sounding ds games, whilst this sounds like a GBA
@JakeTheBikerDude2 жыл бұрын
@@toaster_rtx1829 you are correct about that, but regardless the game can still be considered 8 bit or even pixelated because of how they made it that way for the DS version of the game.

You do realize that the only "8-bit" comparison the DS has is the screen resolution. The DS res is 256x192, which is the exact same resolution as the SEGA Master System. And though the DS has access to a PSG chip, it's not the same as the SMS (it's the Game Boy) and the soundtrack doesn't use it anyways.

@keisui892 жыл бұрын
glad to see someone else who knows how the ds handles audio , though its rare to see any games that use specifically only streamed audio for music , typically just ones that have a few tracks , where bigger games like kingdom hearts or mariokart used sequenced audio due to there being many songs . youre not wrong that it can handle streamed audio , just that many games use sequenced over streamed to save space , and it likely was a budget issue as well
