Sonia’s parents left her to seek work in another village. She is only 12 and all she wants is to go to school but can’t afford to. She often goes days without a meal.
Visit worldvision.ca to sponsor a child like Sonia and make a difference today.

It is pretty messed up that people are spending $700.00 on burgers while stuff like this is happening to children in Africa!

Icidulon Save the Children does allow you to sponsor a child in the United States, but that’s besides the point. We’re all members of the human race. Help out everyone you can, as much as you can. As well as child sponsorship, if I see homeless people, I’ll buy them something to eat. I used to volunteer at a soup kitchen before it closed, but I’m looking to join another one soon.

Child poverty is 100% PREVENTABLE! Need more education on responsible breeding !!!!! Need to fix the problem if you can't afford 1 child don't have 10 kids to suffer in poverty!!!! If they want sponsor the parents need to get fixed. Enough is enough I care for innocent children not the incompetent cultures.

In Canada, the toll-free telephone number to World Vision Headquarters is: 1-800-268-4888. You can ask for information there, the workers are very pleasant & helpful. For assistance in other countries, just google "World Vision telephone number".

I think they can barely make it for themselves and their families. I often wonder what's wrong with us living in North America and we can't send $40 a month (tax deductible) to help children and programs like this survive.

Lisa Cox People are wary of charities because they (mostly the big charities) often use donated money to line the pockets of the CEOs. At least with the main Sponsorship charities (Compassion, Plan International and World Vision), you can actually visit the child in their country, with the charity’s permission. Plus, they work carefully to make their work in the village sustainable after they’re gone.

Nope why not sponsor the United Nations in measuring and collating data on food yields and resources so that there is no starving. And governance of countries is more responsible for its people.

World Vision the people that lay a guilt trip on you if you walk at Yonge and Bloor in Toronto. Their collection techniques are despicable and if they went into a business like a bank or mall uninvited they would be arrested for criminal trespass as they shout "it's for the children".

In Toronto these people collecting literally shout "it's for the children" as people who are not interested are trying to escape their unwanted advances. You tell the reps as they run beside you to keep up "not interested" as you try to get away and they don't always leave right away. Consider this a complaint against the for profit company that World Vision hires to do the collecting. I am very close to posting videos of these people as they work. If I say no I mean no. On the other hand I could stand beside the collector for 45 minutes until they get to know me and stop bothering me. I have seen others do that and as they talk on the phone to give their financial information they tell the person on the phone they have no bank account of their own. I posted this because World Vision was advertising on another video. Are the people that are so aggressive told to be that way? There is one on each side of the sidewalk and I have to walk between. Figure out some honest way to earn the money honestly without sending out street beggars.
