How I got here…
🔹12 yrs old: Started uploading minecraft videos at / @luke23mc
🔹16 yrs old: Switched to uploading Fortnite videos on this channel. You can go to my uploads sort oldest to newest to see all of my old Fortnite videos
🔹18 yrs old: Switched from Fortnite to Rocket League videos during Covid. I also began coaching players 1-on-1 on / spookluke
🔹19 yrs old: Rocket League went free to play and my channel blew up. To keep up with the demand for coaching, started the Grand Champ Roadmap --a rocket league course business
🔹20 yrs old: Developed company and continued to scale course business. Eventually, I dropped out of school to pursue KZbin and the company full-time.
🔹21 yrs old: Switched from selling courses to coaching only. Released all courses for free on www.skool.com/gcb-free/about. Transformed GCR into GCB. Doubled coaching duration, cut price in half. Seeing results improve and students happier was worth making less money.
🔹22 yrs old: @Virge joined as director of coaching to further improve the coaching experience and help us make more free Rocket league content that is accessible to everyone.
Today: Coaching is how we make our money - not youtube videos or courses.

hitting the ball is a mechanic for a silver, scoring open net is a mechanic, that even champs miss, you don't even realize how much u smurf in theses lobbies because you are a SSL or GC player, it won't be that easy for a plat stucker to simply follow what u said & get GC or simply get out of plat, because he doesn't have as many hours as u have

First off I wanna say I love your videos luke, but the thing I have a problem with is that mechanics don't really matter too much if you have the game sense of a GC.

​@@kenntastic75Yeah a lot of the game sense is decision making and being aware of your teammates. The good thing about this strategy of letting your teammate pulling the rope is that you need to do a lot less decision making and focus on playing save and being opportunitic. Punishing mistakes that the opponent makes. Having good mechanics makes it easier, but having more options or taking quite risky shots can be bad if your decision making isn't sound or you are not consistent enough in your abilities yet.

Dead ass. The problem is the lobbies are so unpredictable compared to these placements. I remember my placements being this easy too, and I was a new player. Gold and platinum lobbies are full of diamonds from previous seasons.

I feel like this video was either staged, or he was telling a higher rank than he actually was. I’m currently plat2 and we are bad, but not that bad. Especially in gold you see many ppl at least try to arial. Lastly, the current rank meter was off because multiple times he would say that he was playin plays when the current rank meter said diamond.

I'm gold/plat and my duos lobbies don't really look like that. I'm up in the air trying to defend air dribbles across the field. I get the concept but some days it seems like the team mate player pool is everyone's little brother jumping on their account to drive around and take all the boosts while the other team is piss off diamonds on a losing streak with something to prove. That's why I ignore the ranks. It's a made up measure of ability imo.

Fun video, but this is not EU, right? In EU, nearly every Plat 1+ speedflips and air dribbles. This gameplay here is way too slow. Even Golds play way faster. Seems like the ranks shown in the video are way too high for the skill shown by their owners. Try to do the speedrun in EU and you will see all the Zen wannabes who practise nothing but fancy stuff .. and they are in Gold! ;)
