Its totally useless. I have a VFW and its fantastic due to the 4s reload but if you raise the side pannels you are severely limiting the gun traverse, reload nearly doubles and the protection is barely adequate for rifle caliber machineguns while HE and arty will still murder you. VFW with sides down = cold blooded deadeye predator VFW with sides up = a harmless toaster

It's realy bad. I earned it in the event way back when and it's not very fun. 94mm shells suffer from volumetric, the velocity is suprisingly bad for an AA gun, you dont get a range finder, it fires solid shot and ofcourse you get pressure waved to death. Probably my least favorit event vehicle tbh.

it's a cas magnet because even a blind tank main ( as you demonstrated) can apparently see it from space in a plane, too easy to find for middling cas that just find enemy targets vs pro cas that will scope the battlefield for priority targets ( like a guy solo wiping half the team).

When they introduced the VFW I was excited thinking we could raise or lower the sides in game.. I was sadly disappointed when it's purely a in-hanger option. Also the Timed fuse HE for air is utterly useless for shooting down planes because to activate the timer you have to some how range a moving plane and by the time it finishes ranging they are no where near that range anymore.

@@DaddysBelt92 Add in camping behind whatever ridiculous set of rocks you can find and the thing is untouchable except from the air, had one sit up on a hilltop behind rocks and dude farmed my team. You literally couldn't do anything because the breach (i think) would just eat your rounds and he'd duck behind the rocks, add on the proximity to his spawn and trying to flank was suicide.

​@@braedenh4687 Sure, you can also use tanks and tank destroyers to destroy planes, but that is not the point I was trying to make. Tunguska is extremely capable in both AA and AT roles. The only better SPAA I can think of in those two roles is ADATS in US tree, as it has APDS rounds (extra 16mm od pen compared to Tunguska) and rockets capable of penetrating up to 900mm of armor. You can argue that other SPAAs using APDS ammo have better pen, but they either don't have access to rockets (Falcon, Chieftain Marksman) or those rockets are IR guided (Gepard 1A2), so that's a good trade-off in my eyes.

The problem with this type of vehicle and spaas generally: You exist to counter planes (or in your case not) you can get killed by any plane in existence. Most people dont see spaas or something like the flaktruck or the vfw as actual threats, they see it as cheap kills. And i dont know how the snail could buff them but idk, lets remove the coellion (yes im still tilted about that) and replace it with another easy to kill spaa. Seriously, make planes harder to spawn, if one team wins then they are just everywhere. I do like the VFW tho and the flakbus aswell. Fast firing funguns that look goofy but kick ass. Generally like them and im happy you played the vfw

VFW players forgetting how much the thing absorbs, the post. You're probably dead by the time you get HE loaded since the VFW reloads faster than a 75mm Sherman and the 50cal will have issue with the gunner since he is sheltered at an angle by module structure. VFW only has to click once to the anywhere and you have to aim specific shots. It does belong higher up.

it does have them up if you select that modification. However, it increases the reload to 6 seconds, but with them down the reload is only 4 seconds (for essentially a tiger 2 gun lmao)

I was just having fun in my VFW a few minutes ago. I am content to find a good spot, switch to the proximity round and wait for a bomber to appear. Does that mean I might go an entire battle with little or no "action?" Yes it does and I am okay with that because of the sheer joy when I do get to knock down a bomber in one shot.

Strv 42 both DT and EH are fun at their tiers. The EH has surprisingly good armor and is pretty bouncy at times with a decent gun and mobility. The DT has a fantastic 4 round semi-autoloader and is very mobile. And even the turret front gets bounces occasionally despite being rather thin.

IRL the Kummersdorf range test for the 88mm. L.74 FlaK.41 is given as up to 247mm. @ 0 degrees @ 100 metres with PzGr.39/42 APCBC-HE and up to 311mm. @ 0 degrees @ 100 metres with PzGr.40 APCR.
