The Sd.Kfz.234/1 or 20mm Puma is an absolute menace in low tier tank battles. It is an incredibly fast armored car with an autocannon that shreds anything. I don't know what Gaijin was thinking putting it so low, but it's one of the most busted tanks in War Thunder.

The turret traverse was buffed a month or two ago...it used to be around 11 degrees a second; it was also a 1.7 BR vehicle before the buff. The SD.kfz 140/1 was also buffed; it was when the Snail added the Sd.kfz 222.

The Dakka Puma (20mm) used to have god awful traverse for what it was due to it being made manually cranked while the Pz. II with the same turret has the electric turret traverse. They gave the puma the Pz. Dakka turret.

What are you talking about? Pretty sure both vehicles always used to have 14°/s traverse but now the 234/1 has the same traverse rate as the 222 which seems absurdly fast with 40°/s. It’s faster than even the FlaK 38 found on the Flakpanzers.

Pro tip: if you're having trouble controlling a puma at high speeds (or any other fast vehicle) try driver assist mode! Press whatever keybind you assigned to it, and as long as you hold it, you're pretty much steering with the mouse, insanely useful to keep vehicles like this under control at high speeds.

What if i told you i sometimes lose control over my puma not only because its fast and drifts a lot but also because i use a controller (a controller with a slight stick drift from time to time to be specific)

@redhood996 then this tip doesn't apply to you, since it's basically compensating for the keyboard's lack of a joystick, and you already have a joystick For the first part I'd recommend practice, for the second I'd recommend either getting used to compensating for the drift, fixing it, or getting a new controller

@@sidknoop6381 i did get used to it and drfit doesn't sffect war thunder that much especially with a tiger since its a heavy, but it affects fortnite to some point the character starts strafing from time to time it can be controlled but it pisses me off, what i find hard to control in the puma is when I turn in a corner at high speed when rushing a cap point i always ram into the wall but other than that i have no troubles driving a puma its been a While since it was added in my lineup i got used to it. for those wondering, the Sdkfz.222 is basically the same thing (has the same gun and pretty much the same turet) on the Sdkfz 221 chassis, at BR 2.0. it's about as fast, not as maneuvrable, but considerably smaller too

The driftiness is a feature not a bug. It has all-wheel steering so when you turn right the back of the vehicle goes left.

The chinese got the sdkfz 222, not the 234. Exact same turet as this one (standard 20mm turet for scout vehicules) but 4 wheel and not 8 still fast and dangerous too

day 10 : you should try the jagdtiger sometime. it's extremly slow, doesn't have a turret, gets uptiers all the time, and most importantly, you'll have to play with german teams. the very definition of suffering

I think it would be interesting to see you play the Strv m/41 S-II. Its essentially a Swedish Panzer 38 with APDS. At 2.7. I have been grinding Sweeden recently and it seems totally broken until you have to fight an Su-122 or T-50. Otherwise it's quite good.

This vehicle is a blast, especially with playing with Leo's. I was playing with two there friends, and was keeping pace. Managed to shred a ZSU-23-4 and then got spapped by a KPZ-70. Was worth the God Mode. Or just driving full speed in a straight line sideways and not getting hit casue your fast as huck bro.

We call that one the flak puma, the long 75 is the pak puma, the normal one is called the puma, and the stubby 75 is called the stuma (that one is work in progress)
