My whole life has been a lie. I've been using advanced shooting since around PES 2019 and never knew it removes the ability to use those kinds of shots that you mentioned. I'll switch to basic from now on, and honestly, I'm a bit relieved cause with advanced there's always the possibility of shooting the crossbar if you're not cautious even while shooting at an open net. Glad I watched the video, great one, as always!

Another good un spoons. You can definitely do dipping and rising shots with Advanced Shooting though. I'm not 100% sure if it's like auto-feint where the player will automatically do it in certain situations if he has the skill, but I've definitely seen plenty of examples of the dipping and rising shot types using Advanced!

Cheers dude. Those are performed contextually rather than direct controller input. I've done it too on advanced but it's not like I pressed a sequence of buttons (same happens on basic too - he'll perform a rising/dipping shot for no reason).

Thanks for the video. Quick, probably silly question. If button pressing length does not affect shot strength, but placement height, what does? For example 1v1 I wish to either do a powerful shot in the bottom right corner, or to do a weaker shot at the same corner, for esthetic purposes. what is the way i control this decision?

Well, if you're sprinting the larger the distance between player the harder you'll kick it. If your player is walking, he'll kick it with less power than sprinting.

About manual shooting, when you are trying to hit a finesse shot, the ball trajectory sometimes gets messy because you didn't control spin. And controlling spin is very difficult because the command is too complex to be executed in the middle of the game at superstar or above. I can only hit shots with a good amount of spin in practice and with manual guide on.

@Gabriel Marinho start aiming outside the goal. Then press RT/R2 and while you are charging the shot, move LS/L3 stick to a direction inside the goal. If you go to my channel you can see videos about it, but those are simple videos that i made to show what i was talking about in forums like evoweb. I find it too fiddly in situations where a ball is quickly whipped in across the 6 yard box because you don't have time to properly adjust the direction of the shot. If you don't know what I'm talking about, turn on the targeting crosshair and see what I mean about how the advanced shooting works, it's almost as if you have to guide the shot after you've already released it, which is backwards to me.

When I play against the computer, it's like the ball is glued to their players' feet, my players however, easily lose the ball. That's why I mainly score using through balls. I still dominate ML on Professional, but have a hard time on Top Player. My question is, how do I stay on the ball like the computer does? I hope you know what I mean.

@spoonypizzas Weird question but why is the left stick flicked either up and to the left, straight up, or up and to the right when shooting? If you are playing on stadium cam, aren’t you playing side to side, so you wouldn’t you visually flick the left stick either to the left or right side depending on the direction you are shooting in and not up and down? I feel like flicking either up or down would send it out of bounds to either touch line. Meaning the goals aren’t north and south like if you are playing with a player POV.

It’s the button you use for running. But it only works if you are actually not running. Basically like in the real world because placing a shot on high speed is very difficult 😅

Another great video! Have a video tutorial idea for you (unless you already know). I haven't seen this talked about anywhere and it's not listed in any control tutorials that I have seen. You can play a low driven pass anywhere on the field when playing manual passing by holding L1 and double tapping square button (I use alternative control setting). It's basically the low cross but you can do it anywhere. This has been a game changer for me with manual passing. Sometimes it works better than a through ball in long distance situations. I use it often to drill passes unit my wingers or quickly switch fields while working the ball around the pitch. It also seems to be more accurate than normal pass in those situations. Check it out! If you like it and do a video, give me a shout out. Giving a new tip to the great Spoony Pizza, man, that would be a lifetime achievement. LOL. Again, you may already know that I just don't hear anyone ever discuss it with manual passing (FYI.....I don't know if it works with pass assist on).

Haha that's funny. Towards the end of 2020 I've been using this AND general manual control override for long balls over the top (if you see the Super Cancel video - you'll see De Jong play a ball over the top to Wesley who smashes it into the corner) and more manual passes as PA1 pass errors are crazy high. I commented before that I kept missing sitters when I low cross the ball into the box, but I came to understand that all you have to press is the shoot button without any directional input. I'm way more clinical in front of goal now.

Hi mate, manual means aim totally based on L-stick input. Special controls button is your jockey button in PES when without the ball. It also allows you to tweak your position mainly useful when ball is in the air. Hope this helps, I'd recommend checking out my super cancel video... Will take your game to the next level - but...it's very hard to learn

Check my Top 3 skill moves and I'd recommend activating auto feint ON - it'll seem weird coming from FIFA but it'll improve skill move responsiveness. Check out shielding tutorial as releasing sprint button will certainly help improve your dribbling. Also my high speed and low speed dribbling tutorials from 2020 are still relevent. Dribbling is one of my strong points.

Appreciate if you can make a tips and tricks video about BAL mode in 2021. I am not seeing any videos tackling about it in this year's iteration of PES. Started BAL in some Thai league team and half way thru the season (bottom of the table) then moved to Groningen but I still struggle to make an impact btw I play as a CF. I noticed that my team mates are doing long balls everytime even without any players upfront. Cheers!

@@___yanyans Which difficulty? I tried Professional it is too easy the opponent just let my team walk into the net, Top player is fairly okay, Superstar is a joke (not mentioning legend). The more the difficulty and the opponent boost: the more desperate and bad your team. On Top player with Parma 1 out of 7 matches they did not shoot the ball forward for the first reaction but actually passed around (and when we lead 3-0 at the end of the match we possessed the ball I could not believe it)... The opponent always passses around and build up properly (30-70% possession). And when I was sub they played fairly okay and possessed a ball a bit.. but when I am in they just hammer the ball forward (I am RWF). The most I can do is to ask the ball on midfield and try to pass to a place where they dont hammer forward anymore. Otherwise I try to position myself around the CF LOL. So dumb. On professional gameplay changes a bit and my players have more confidence or what and play a bit better. Or just the opponent has less pressure and without pressure they can play. BAL on top player has big contrast compared to superstar or Legend as even superstar has boosted better defense which is difficult to open up when you control the whole team - and pretty no chance when you control 1 and other 10 is half stat than the opponent (and same dumb). Nothing creative or interesting is happenning from AI even on Legend I think. Just they are there everywhere both on defense/attack. Doing the same. Pretty tyring and need too much patience. And high skill and experience against AI which can not surprise you as it is not clever just boosted. However maybe the quality of the team matters too. With 2nd league team it was much more worse in BAL. Accidentally I selected SeriaA and got into Parma.. Fortunately I am starting besides the many much better players. :) And CF has more quality to win balls in the air and shoot goals I have more than 1 goal/1 assist per game so far. Good start. :) However I dont think above top player is worth any effort. My AI is still bad I need to create the chances mostly. I am curious what happens if I am better than 71 OVR player. :) But compared to superstar in normal game mode both AI is terrible... pretty bad defense, etc. Just in BAL why would it be more challenge if your team can not do anything when the opponent is always "Barca".I just see the opponent passing all game and shoot the goals. I still do on Top player but at least there are fair amount of chances. Btw I tried short pass team in PES2020 and that was when I quited: my team did not want to go forward from the half of the pitch. Only the defenders passed among each other lol. It was much worse than long ball play with 3 attacker. They was 4-5-1. Need more experience but this game mode was always weird. Need to find "an exploit gameplay" and go with it. Otherwise your team is simply worse (or if not as you lower the difficulty: it is even more boring as everything is goal to you). I quited PES2020 pretty fast as I did not see the point learning that many tricks and skills... against that bad AI? or even worse ping-pong online? :) Ahh I have PES2021 for one day and a bit frustrated again. Maybe I am just too old. PES5-6 was the same when I did the 4-3-3 with Milan and crossed to Shevchenco and Gilardino lol. But it was fun that time. :)

I think shooting is worst thing about PES 2021. I literally never hit crossbar with basic shooting, no matter what I do for long shots, shot is too weak or it is too powerful. And when I use R2 shoot is always weak, can only score in 16 yard. There are no cool volley, crazy distance goals etc sad for game like PES, shooting is way better in FIFA.

I find shooting in Pes so confusing,why do u have to move the left stick up or down when they could do it like Fifa where u move the stick towards where u want the ball to go. And what actually makes it even more confusing is that it changes when the first half finishes. I understand the logic behind it,but is far worse than FIFA's logic
