The club formed in 1820 as 'The Wednesday Cricket Club' as they used to play on wednesdays. Football was originally played to keep the team fit over winter. :)

@merchant100 The best way to improve your goalie skills is both. Training with and playing matches. IMO, going to a gym would only get you stronger, but neither faster nor better goalkeeper. Greetings.

This still surprises me, how many people are not aware about Zumlaxoc Training Program (do a search on google), although many people improve their soccer skills with this training program. Good exercises but the goalkeepers have very little technique while getting up, running and diving. BECAUSE in goal you can't run from goalpost to goalpost
