Thanks! And you too! :) You got some pretty cool videos yourself :) I really laughed at your commentary! I so much recognize all of the stuff that goes around in your head while trad climbing!

Great video and very useful! I was debating on where to sport climbing in Chamonix and now I'll definitely check out Le Brevent! Thank you!

You were on the main crag of Les Gaillands. There is a sub crag to the right of the main one called Vipers crag which has 6-7 grades and is substantially less crowded. Ilive in Chamonix, whenever you are around i would be keen to show you around to some good crags! There is the index crag which is just below the flegere lift andway more up at Col des Montets!

Nice! Thanks Lorenzo 😄 That would be great 🥳 Yeah, we just climbed the main sector at Les Gaillands, and didn’t visit the side sectors. I’ve climbed a few routes to the very right side before and that was also less crowded 😄

@@Cragcloud yeah the right side is where the harder routes are on the main crag. I think the hardest there is a single 7a out of the top of my head. Drop me a message when you are back here.

Great video! My son and I will be in Chamonix in early June and are thinking of climbing at Le Brevent. Would you recommend carrying a few smaller cams and nuts, for a route like La Somone? And is a 70 M rope good for the area? Thanks Greg

@cragcloud nice video and drone shots! Going to Chamonix late Aug. Any tip which crag is best for intermediate, 5c/6a/6b that has a picturesque view and vibe?

I was in Les Gaillands in June, it was not as busy then as in your video, but there were quite a few climbing parties as this is popular spot for instructors to have first climbs with students. Have you been to Vallorcine?
@Cragcloud6 жыл бұрын
Yes, Vallorcine is a great place too, but that is mainly multi-pitch routes, right? I went there two years back. I would actually suggest that people visit Servoz just west of Chamonix instead of Les Gaillands. It is a smaller crag, but it resembles Les Gaillands. Have you been there?

Any recommendations on multi-pitch sport climbs around chamonix?
@Cragcloud5 жыл бұрын
Brock Nordstrom down the valley I can really recommend the routes on ale Brevent - like Frison-Rouge (6a, sport) and Ex Librix (6b, trad). High up you should check out The routes on Grand Capucin, especially the Swiss Route (6b+, trad) 😄
