That piano was like when Shaq broke his first backboard early in his NBA career. Always wondered why the whole backboard came down the way it did and nearly killed Shaq.

@jjumpong00 Look again. On this Schelde backboard even if the rim is broken right off, the backboards stays intact!

@osirisskater1212 Look again. The backboard glass is the same, but since the glass on this Schelde backboard is cut out where the rim attaches to the steel beam, dunking put zero stress on the glass and it will not break? That's why the 6000 pounds of force from the piano did not break the glass.

no one can ever break that rim and backboard.. who agrees with me?

@TranswarpXL But that was NOT on the Schelde backboard, when never breaks from a dunk, since there is NO GLASS between the rim and the stanchion itself.

@gjfwang That was not a Schelde backstop that he broke, but rather a BPI backstop! No Schelde backstop has broken during competition, and no backboard has ever broken on a Schelde unit.

@LilHulk08 He's played on Schelde backstops for years, and didn't break them.

@NJDEVILS2216 6000 pounds of force will bend or break the steel. That's exactly what happened.

@x77poison77x That was not a Schelde backstop. He played on Schelde backstops in college at LSU and again with the Miami Heat, but never broke one.

@Cheema0113 Not this type. If he could break the rim right off the unit, the glass would not break. This is a Schelde backboard, with no glass between the rim and the steel beam that the rim is bolted too, so the glass just stays unharmed.
