Guys, this is a competition between a CMX for and a Traditional form. While saying that Jake looks stiff is technically correct, that also means he's doing it correctly. They are very different forms so comparing them using the same criteria doesn't do traditional-style forms justice.

Sorry but there is nothing traditional about any of this. Traditional bo kata does not require you to "power up" your arm before starting. 01:29 Frankly all of this is a disrespectful americanised caricature of traditional Eastern martial arts. It's like taking a temple and slapping a Mcdonald sign on it.

If you want to learn real martial arts, stay clear and as far away from these "exibitionists". While they are impressive and extremely athletic, they are not real martial artists. If you really wish to learn and have a real interest, try and look for traditional style martial arts and not so much these modern "sports" or "showmanship" marrial arts. Best of luck in your martial arts journey my friend 😎👍

Holy F*ckin' Sh1t man...the second participant is unbelievable and should be doing stunt work in motion pictures!!! I started doing Kick Boxing and Savate when I was 16. Made it to Black Belt and got into doing another sport that demanded all of my time (road bike racing) and I was doing 65 miles per day on average and the martial arts has been long gone in my life. My wife is German, met while I was stationed there in the Army. She has a black belt in Kung Fu and did Kendo and Tsai. Was in the Polezei SEK (Spezialeinsatzkommando) and she is truly bad assed. I have mad respect for the mindset and training it takes for these youngsters. Keep it up!

Thank God the UFC exists and separates all the bullshido from real fighters. When can any of these people use a long bar in a fight especially after training with that bar for many years? They would immediately be considered a dangerous weapon & arrested if they ever pulled that out even in road rage? They wouldn’t be crazy enough to try to use it in a gunfight?They can’t bring it with them into a bank? So why all those waisted years of training with it? Maybe you can use it in a movie or something. Nonsense to call this a “Martial Art”

@@TheInfantry98 Noooo, I am not jealous. I may have been too harsh, I have studyed for over 40 years and I am trained in the old ways and don't enter competions. I don't agree with the throwing weapons up in the air, in a battle that would get you killed really fast. Even though I don't agree with the "light weapons" used and the "CONAN" TYPE yelling that holds no purpose.I might go and watch a competion if it was in my area. MAYBE..... I COULD LEARN SOMETHING NEW ABOUT THESE COMPETIONS, AND IT MAY ENHANCE MY TRAINING. ( It still takes hard training to get to where they are). 👍
@TheInfantry985 жыл бұрын
The Duke of the Skull bro it doesn’t matter if someone throws a bo staff cuz nowadays people use guns that fire bullets at over 1000-2500 FPS. Sorry bro but no one fights the traditional way anymore. It’s antiquated and boring AF
@thedukeofskull13835 жыл бұрын
@@TheInfantry98 very, very, true!! In battle you use your best option, you want to be the one that lives. Just imagine if you could go back in the past and offer someone like a Samurai the choice of a staff or sword OR pistol or rifle ( and he knew how to use it). He would give you a stupid look and take the pistol or rifle 😀.Your life is on the line, you use the best option! I read years ago of a black belt in New York that carrys a pistol. He said it stops the fight right there and then. You don't get sued in court for defending yourself. I also like to read about and look at gun catalogs (even though I know very little about guns 😀).If they are going to practice with martial arts weapons, they should be real techniques and weapons or at least authentic weight weapons, since they are suppose to be doing katas that represent real fighting. M. Angelou the poet said once that someone broke into her house, she was in bed with a pistol and asked, " Is it worth dying over? " She said they left quickly. I am 100% for the rights of gun owners, gun control is not working for them in England. I take it that you were in the military. From the deepest of my heart and for my ancestors back to Scotland, thank you for giving your time to serve our country and to protect it. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
