I have been wearing Progressive glasses for years & have an astigmatism. I can see fine it's just small dots that look funny. Like a red dot sight on my rifle optic. It kinda looks like a hook. If you get Progressive glasses, pay a bit more for the "Premium Progressive Lenses" you'll get like 30% more field of view, results? Less blurry or dizziness & headaches. Takes a week or 2 to get used to them but you will & you'll love them..

One doctor prescibed single focus lens for me and other doctor prescribed Progressive lens for me. I am confused which one to go for. How can you help me?
@sportrxeyewear2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rikab! If you find yourself struggling to read small print or holding items further from your eyes in order read clearly then you may benefit from a progressive lens. However, there are some people who have trouble navigating a multifocal lens as it takes a bit of time to adjust your eyes to this lens design. In this case, single vision may be the better choice especially if you're not heavily reliant upon the reading portion of a progressive lens. Hope this helps!

Why is it that I have to raise my eyeglasses way above the top of my nose to see clearly ? Is it because the prescription wasn’t correctly aligned on the lenses ?
@kweenjade012 жыл бұрын
possibly. Either way you'd need a new pair and maybe even another exam.

Hi, in your videos and here in the comments you say if we have any questions then please ask, well I did a week ago on this video!!! "What part of my eye prescription is for reading" nothing to do with that specific video but a question from a frustrated guy (me) who can't wear Oakley and since then I tried Prada silver mirrored polarized and the same happened to me, nightmare, can you help? If not then just say we can't and that's fine! But if you say ask a question and we do then please respond as you say you will. Thanks

Hey, Corbon! Thanks for reaching out to us! I'm sorry we haven't gotten back to you - we are definitely behind on our comment responses. It sounds like you are having trouble with wrapped sunglasses or possible larger lens sizes. We may very well have a great solution for you! In order to be certain, I would recommend you reach out to one of our phone opticians (or email if that's better for you -> info@sportrx.com) and have your prescription ready for reference. We are well-versed in prescription parameters and should have a least a handful of frame options for you. The best line to get us at is 888-831-5817. Thanks again!

Great video. I have a question about this. I never wore glasses before and picked up a prescription recently. Have astigmatism in both eyes, worse in my right. I'm not sure if my prescription is wrong or not, but everything seems more blury than if I'm not wearing glasses. I was told to wear them for a couple of weeks to "adjust". The weird thing is that my good eye (left) is blurry with glasses on, but is very sharp without them. Do you know if this is expected?
@sportrxeyewear4 жыл бұрын
That is a very good question! Vision correction can be tough because no two eyes are alike, even in the same head. There can be an adjustment period for first-time glasses wearers (ESPECIALLY if you're also trying progressives for the first time) and it is always recommended that you give them their fair shake. If in about 1-2 weeks of consistent wear they are still giving you trouble, you should definitely see the doctor again. This adjustment period is especially important if you have a 'plus' prescription, which means you are hyperopic. We touch on that a bit in this video explaining 'SPH': kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH3cYqBsjKx9gKc Astigmatism is found on your prescription under the 'CYL' column and if that's confusing, I tried to break that down a bit here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goqrh2OdiruVf8U With all that being said, there are some variables that might make your specific scenario a bit more complex, but it should be something that is resolved with a bit of time and potentially working with the doctor to fine-tune it. If you ever have any other questions/concerns, please feel free to reach out to one of our friendly, knowledgeable opticians for more tailored assistance at 888-831-5817!

Are the Oakley Flak 2.0 XL with progressive lenses and Oakley factory lenses one of the better options you were talking about?...thank you
@sportrxeyewear3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I would absolutely consider Oakley authentic lenses (or SportRx lenses, for that matter) to be the better options. I believe I mentioned that at SportRx we only work with top-tier designs. Oakley also only works with their own proprietary progressive design, which is at the top of the spectrum in quality!

I only got -0.25 sphere on both and one -0.50 cylinder, and they got me progressive lenses. Should I wear this all the time?
@sportrxeyewear2 жыл бұрын
If you rely on the magnification portion at the bottom of the progressive lens for reading, then yes! If your only correction is for astigmatism and not distance, then you may be able to get away without wearing them in some settings, but if the Dr recommends it, generally speaking we would as well.

Have you tried to make hockey visors?
@sportrxeyewear2 жыл бұрын
unfortunately due to the visors design being semi rimless and single shield as opposed to 2 individual lenses they cannot support an Rx lens. That said, there are many options that work well as safety goggles beneath the visor... www.sportrx.com/wiley-x-gamer.html

I am a first time wear of glasses and I have a stigmatism and I'm about 5 or 6 days into progressives and I cannot get used to them
@sportrxeyewear Жыл бұрын
Give it more time MM. It takes on average a few weeks to adapt to progressive lenses for first time wearers, especially those with Astigmatism. However if you're finding it difficult after that time to adjust, you might fall under the non-adapt camp of people who just can't -- t get used to wearing them. At that point you may want to consider a lined bifocal. Hope this helps!

I am in the same boat. Struggled like crazy the first week. I’m currently on day 12 and things are getting much better. I think it just takes time for our brains and eyes to adjust to the glasses.

You can have myopia and astigmatism, but still not need progressives. Needing progressives is a different eye condition called presbyopia.
