Had n87 and now replaced with n80.8. Both good, quality and comfortable helmets. Note that you would need C adapter compatibile with n80.8 when you moving n-com from n87 to n80.8. I didn't knew this and now I'm waiting for adapter...

Be careful with this helmet, there is a huge amount of wind noise. I came to it from a Shark s600 and was expecting much better from a helmet in the next price category up. The helmet could be a good choice if you ride a full size tourer or an adventure bike with a high screen but I've struggled with it on sportsbikes and sports-tourers. It has a lot of useful features and is rated well for safety but the wind noise really does my head in. As far as I can tell, the wind makes it's way over the visor and into the gaps that have been left in the liner for the ncom earpieces to go into. It seems to be worse on the left side where the lever for the sun visor is located. Annoyingly, you won't be able to return it at this point because you have to peel off the visor sticker in order to ride with it.

Have bought this coming from a Nolan N87 and I'm somewhat disappointed. The wind noise in this is so much louder than the N87 at lower speeds. The adjustable liner button is also painful on my head, the little notch/button adds so much pressure and pain to the point where I've taken it out. Extremely comfortable though but part of me wishes I'd have returned it to you guys

In betwen HJC RPHA 70 and Nolan N80-8 which one you would recommend more. Many Thaks I drive naked bike
@sportsbikeshop Жыл бұрын
Aside from comfort for your head (which is important and you should check before buying if possible) there are reasons in favour of both and it'll be your call on which are your priority. The RPHA-70 was quieter for me, it'll be lighter, it has D-rings for the strap, which are more precise in adjustment. The Nolan passes the newer safety standard and has a buckle strap that is simpler to use. My choice would be the HJC, but I appreciate you may have different priorities to me. I hope this helps. Cheers, Tony

I got N80-8 just after it became available. Not from yourselves. Being Nolan user for ages, this helmet is the biggest dissapoitment from Nolan. The seal around the visor is a disaster. Noise, turbulence, cold coming in . I have it returned but the repacement was the same.I can provide photos and video if someone is interested At least 10 emails to the seller, that many to Nolan too and finally got refund. Now back to N87 plus with N-Com B601R, love it.
@Geshmaal2 жыл бұрын
I think Nolan maybe don't have the best quality control, my N100-5 has similar visor sealing issues and the neck roll failed within a year, the cheek pads also seem to wear out in 6 months or so.

Hello. Can you advise, Shark Spartan 1.2 or Nolan N80-8?
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
Hi. I've not worn the Spartan 1.2, but I have tried the Spartan GT and Spartan RS. Based on my experience of those I would place the Shark above the Nolan. As ever, much will come down to your own personal needs and preferences, and also the way the helmet fits your head. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

Is this helmet supposed to have the EC sticker on the back? I just bought one and there is no DOT or CE sticker on it?

You should find the ECE 22.06 label sewn to the chinstrap. You may need to remove one of the cheekpads to reach the bit that it's stitched to. Cheers, Tony

Hi there, I’m having a tough time deciding between these helmets as my first helmet: Nolan N87, AGV K3 SV-S, Scorpion Exo 520 Air, and the HJC i70. Is there one you’d particularly recommend over the others? (Not fussed on communication systems etc.) but more on quality, safety, fitment, and ability to use glasses with it. Cheers!
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
I've worn all of those helmets and I'd say it should come down to comfort for your head shape. There's nothing in particular that makes any of them stand out from the other, so I'd advise trying some or all of them on and getting some advice on which ones fit you. If you live near one of our shops you could order each of those helmets to be waiting there for you to try on, and get that advice you need. Good luck with your mission, and getting into biking. Cheers, Tony

I heard from some reviewer that the crown pad has the technology to keep the cold inside the pad, so you feel cool inside. Is it true?
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
There's nothing in Nolan's info on this lid to support that claim, and I don't recall experiencing a magic cooling pad on top of my head when I wore this lid. There is mesh material surrounding the top pad, which Nolan say helps the ventilation system do its job, so perhaps the reviewer was referring to that. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

A bit late to the party, but when I tried looking for the ECE markings (which I got told I need to locate for my driving exam) I didn’t find it. Maybe I just overlooked it, but could you help me out here?

You should be able to find it stitched to the underside of the chinstrap, or the cover that protects your chin from strap chafing. You're looking for the digits 06 at the beginning of a six-digit code. Cheers, Tony

@sportsbikeshop Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear it doesn't work for you. It may be down to the switch from ECE 22.05 to 22.06 as helmets in general seem to be a little larger in external size if they meet the new standard, which this does. Good news for protection, bad news for fitting in luggage. Cheers, Tony

Hi, would cardo pack talk slim earphones fit in the helmet?
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
The speakers for the Packtalk Slim are the same as the Packtalk Bold speakers that wouldn't fit in the recesses when we made this video. Based on that, I'd say they won't fit in the recesses. If you have room between the helmet and your ears you could put the velcro boosters in the recesses and stick the speakers to those, but it may end up causing discomfort if you don't have enough room around the ears. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

@@sportsbikeshop Hi Tony, thanks for that, could you recommend a helmet that would be good?
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
Hi Craig, apologies - I've only just seen your question. Generally, HJC and Bell are the best I've found when trying to accommodate Cardo speakers. So the HJC i70 or F70 would be good, or a Bell Qualifier DLX. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony

how about the wind noise Sir?
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
Always hard to comment on noise as so many other factors affect the way wind flows over a helmet. My experience was that this was quite noisy and I was glad of my earplugs, but this could very well be different for other riders on other bikes and riding in different conditions. How this compares to new N60-6?
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
This is a step up in a few areas from the N60-6. The comfort lining is a bit more plush, and the liner adjustability is an extra you don't get on the N60-6. The N80-8 is N-Com compatible, unlike the N60-6 (which doesn't have recesses for speakers). The sun visor operating mechanism on the N80-8 is more refined than the N60-6, which has a simpler rotating switch at the left-hand visor pivot. And the two-stage system on the N80-8's micrometric strap buckle is a step up from the N60-6, which just has a lift and release buckle. The N60-6 is a good value lid that does the basics very well, but this one is a more premium helmet with nicer features. It is about 150 grams heavier, though, if that's important to you. The N60-6 review is coming soon by the way. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

How is the noise?
@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
That'll depend on what you ride, how you wear the helmet, other kit you wear (such as earplugs), anything you fit to the helmet (intercoms), the conditions and your personal idea of what is/isn't noisy, so forgive me for not passing comment as my experience is unlikely to relate. Once we have a bigger quantity of customer reviews it's easier to get a broader picture of general feedback - but it's still too early to read anything into the reviews at the moment. Cheers, Tony

@sportsbikeshop2 жыл бұрын
Saludos, Tony
