New holder I agree doesn’t add that much value, but Auto 10 really does for rare rookie cards, because it reduces the pop count down significantly. Around 50 of these Lebrons have PSA 10, but less than 20 also have an Auto 10. So that scarcity does add value. If you look at Tiger Woods 2001 SP Authentic, the 10/10 regularly outsells the 10 by $5-$10k for example.

PSA 9 at auction over $65k+ gives the value of your BGS 9 immediate credibility on the $40k value you were asking…that Lebron is not a $35k card just because of the auto grade added. I think you have to take into account a lot of collectors that own a PSA 10 just don’t add that auto grade to and therefore it makes the dual grade seem “rarer”. Imagine all the people who own PSA 10’s just add the auto grade, now what? That Jordan is far more valuable, would’ve been way better off to send it off to auction if you were really wanting to get profit out of it. You could then go buy the Lebron PSA 10 pay to an auto grade and STILL have $10k+ leftover of profit 🤷‍♂️

Personally would never trade away that Jordan signed RC sticker for that LeBron. I also have an ungraded minty MJ RC sticker, I love it too much to ever trade it for anything LeBron. MJ sticker at BGs 9 with pwcc E rating means it was a really nice 9 and would cross to a PSA 9....The lebron waa being valued at the highest possible at 36k while the psa 9 jordan comp was already close to 60k. Yes it had a 10 auto but the auto on the bgs copy was very nice as well..could be left with no auto grade or get a psa 9 or 10 for the auto. Either way a huge win for the other guy.

you know how rare a hi graded Jordan sticker is? they're super rare. most are well off-centered. plus it's an auto. Geoff's was a rare card with high grades. I wouldn't accept the trade for lebron/luka kaboom/$4300. dude picked out a luka instead of Geoff looking/picking cards. dude probably got the luka for 1/2 of what it's worth, or for free in a previous trade. Lebron's cards will go down in the next few years because of age(will go up when he's retired though), but the Jordan sticker will go up during that time. bad trade. he came to Geoff, so Geoff should have used that for leverage.

So back in 03/04 I was fortunate enough to pull a UD Glass Auto Focus redemption of Jordan. I redeemed it and still have it in a case. Thinking of sending it to PSA for.card and auto grade bit nervous of losing it through the mail. Would love to visit psa booth at a national one day.

I love UD glass I was also lucky enough to pull a MJ jersey auto redemption Monumental Mark /50 I sent mine in to Beckett got 8.5 10 auto. Wish I held on to it, ended up selling my MJ collection including Nike promo PSA 9 Fleer RC with sticker all for $1200 bucks on ebay back in 2005.

The Jordan auto was worth at least $5k - $6k more than what this deal ended for. The Lebron is a good card to acquire because he’s about to retire. Once he plays with his son and goes into the HOF I think the value of the card will surpass $40k
