Always practical, no-nonsense and entertaining presentation. Great work, Lena.

Oh My God! Just when you think you have heard and seen it all! What a fabulous pack of useful info and more importantly what a presentation! No corny humor no self aggrandizing (even though your record is well deserving) and no overly dumbed down or jargon-filled. You are a natural teacher. How awesome to see the daughter of world class champions exceeding parents and carving a unique niche. Thank you Ms Lena. Well done indeed.

Comment from across the pond from Germany: Uplula has been available in Europe for a while and it is one of the best pistol related inventions ever. If you don't have one as a pistol owner, it's your own fault. Good that Lena brings this useful thing back to mind.

Thanks Lena for taking the time to explain the why's and demonstrate the how's. Too many pro-shooter's skip past us novice folks that do a bit of plinking or to stop a threat snakes, skunk etc. and your skill levels can zip by us when watching.

Great tips, especially about the elbows. Will have to try the two fingers over the trigger guard. Excellent tips, and excellent instructing- I love her teaching style.
@isotopestudios14012 жыл бұрын
Every one of Lena's videos I have seen have had outstanding info. One note on her (Vulcan) 2 fingers on the trigger guard grip - this works for competitive shooters since they are not permitted to have pistol lights attached but most self defense/LEO have lights which prevent this type of grip.
@Hawk19663 жыл бұрын
I've got nerve damage and loading mags is tough. When I was shooting for my concealed carry permit the RSO brought me an UpLula and it was amazing. I wasn't as fast as Lena but it's crazy how easy one makes loading especially with new mags that have stiff springs. When I bought my P365 an UpLula was along side.

Turns out that my left elbow has been turning down during presentation . Causing shots to go left.I tried all the other shooters’ tips for left impacts. No permanent fix. I didn’t know I was doing this,until this video made me Look at my elbows.MUCH thanks Lena!

Lena is the only well-known pro I see using the ‘trigger guard grip,’ which I have had some shooters use to great effect over the years. Thanks for being willing to show people that doing slightly different from whatever the ‘tactical shooting flavor of the week’ happens to be is OK, as long as it increases performance!
@johnjubie71442 жыл бұрын
I really like the trigger guard grip, but virtually everyone tells me it's a bad habit and don't do it.
@John_Malloy2 жыл бұрын
Notice also that from that position she doesn't have to "cam" her wrist which increases the strength of her grip.
@LPikeno2 жыл бұрын
@@johnjubie7144 There's a video that Jerry Miculek, the man himself, tackles the same point that a dude makes when saying that: "There's no right or wrong way to do it, there's winning or losing". Always remember that "the current way" of gripping a handgun would be outrageous 40 years ago, and "40 years ago way" would be outrageous 80 years ago.
@roberthughes26872 жыл бұрын
@@johnjubie7144 I do the same thing, ccw instructor said "can you shoot like that" I said absolutely, ended up being one of the two fastest and most accurate in the class. Other other guys only edge was his striker fired gun vs my double action SIG. They made me start firing with my hammer down so I wasn't quite as fast as the other guy lol
@chipsterb49462 жыл бұрын
She emphasizes over and over CONSISTENCY. I like the more natural wrist angle when I put a finger in front of the trigger guard. The problem arises when the pistol in my hand has a smooth, rounded front on the trigger guard. I definitely would test this approach but for my 1911 bias.

Your technique of putting your hands together and then drawing them back to your chest is a type of hand therapy that hand surgeons have used for years to strengthen your hands and to ward off carpal tunnel syndrome, while cutting hair for a living that was shown to me back in 1993 at the time until you showed it. I never thought it would work for shooting and guns.😊I grew up in a time where you you strengthen your hands and forearm, kept your eyes on the target, pointed it with your predominant eye and hand and a T stance of a Bullseyes shooter.

Put the bandaids on first. I see too many people getting cut up from areas on their new pistols at their first instruction class. If they're getting uncomfortable, get that padding on before they start to dislike their new sport. An UpLula is also a UnLoader. There's a groove cut in the side. I need a class in Louisiana. Please.
