Go from out classing Florida, to getting outclassed by Boston, then go to outclassing Colorado this evening. This team can really frustrate me, because I know for certain they can do better and win all 3x of these games in solid fashion at home. Whether it's puck management, coaching tactics, soft-mindedness I do not know, but I know one thing that's always been consistent is Sherwood's performances. Guy is an ANIMAL. Well deserved hattrick.

I love EP40 but it's gotta feel weird making that much money and sitting there watching guys who make a tiny fraction of your salary carry the team. That's got to be part of what was messing with his head earlier this season. I think agents completely ruin it for their own clients and the team as well. Asking that much money puts equivalent pressure on you to perform, not just for management and the fans but to not have bitter feelings amongst your teammates. The higher salary you demand to stay with the team the more you are potentially hurting the team, particularly if you don't perform. I get that business is just part of the game, but I'd personally rather do what Crosby or the Sedins did and take a small pay cut to show you are playing for the team and the cup and not the money. My point is, I think it would have been better for Petey and his mindset if he had taken less money and been seen as giving his team a discount. It would mean way less pressure on him and a lot more forgiveness towards his play.

What universe have you been living in? Pettey's been carrying the team since the start of November! He was good for at least a pair of his own goals tonight, but got Blackwooded out of them. Try living in reality for a bit, you're missing a great player making great plays by being stuck in last Spring when he was hobbling on half a knee with only half a line on his wings. Remember, when he wasn't scoring, he had a dude on his wings in the midst of managing to score only ONE goal in 61 games with a nearly 60 assist guy centring him. His other winger for much of the season was 4th Liner Lafferty, who lacks the scoring touch, though he can bump and bang well enough.

Couples cryers lose again but our game tonight was Unbelievable, man….The Oilers totally outplayed the Panthers tonight, but of course, the refs were totally biased, calling all the soft penalties against us. You could see it…every time we had a chance to break through, some random non-call or weak penalty screws us over. It’s ridiculous. If the Oilers didn’t have to play against the refs AND the Panthers, we would’ve crushed them. Florida’s nothing compared to us anyway. Let’s be real, we should’ve won the Cup last year.. but injuries, bad luck, and, yeah, some bad officiating kept us from lifting it. But this year? It’s OUR year. We have the most firepower in the league, and everyone knows it. And don't even get me started on Calgary losing to Florida too. Can you imagine? They couldn’t even hang with the Panthers, and they still think they’re contenders. Meanwhile, the Oilers are built for greatness. You know the Panthers can’t keep up with McDavid and Draisaitl, so don’t even act like this game means anything. We’re just biding our time until the playoffs, where we’ll show everyone who the real powerhouse is. Florida's just lucky tonight.
