Sometimes a team just needs a kick in the ass. Leafs are taking advantage. I say this as someone who hates them and is cheering for the Bruins, but they have earned a little bit of respect from me. Leaf's are playing more like a team without Mathews. He needs to stay gone so the rest of the team doesn't always have to worry about trying to get him the puck and realize that they can do it without him. Nylander actually playing a defensive game is crazy but it happened. I thought I was dreaming. Woll is doing a great job between the pipes. The Leafs actually looked like a playoff team the last 2 games. I'm not a Leaf fan but they need to keep this momentum and I would love to see them finally get to the cup and against the Oilers would be a fantastic series.

Nylander has been the best overall player on the Leafs all year. Matthews obviously a better pure goal scorer but Willie has a sky high hockey IQ, is very unpredictable and creative, outstanding agility, he can do it all on offense. Plus he has a winning, positive attitude that is noticeably absent from Marner and Matthews.

This is just nuts how just like it's a routine thing for Leafs to choke out constantly in almost every playoff series, it's also becoming routine for my B's to do EVERYTHING BUT close out a series and win an elimination game. We just got over last year by round mid season. Losing at home in a Game 7 in the first round, especially to a franchise we own, would be catastrophic. @@darrelldart4573 Sorry for confusion. The Game 7 jinx is referring to the Leafs. Last year they win in 6 in first round and lost in 5 in second round so no Game 7 for them last year.

@@RobL350 Half of our "aging core" left after last years chokejob (bergy and krecji). JVR, shattenkirk and march are surely getting up there but there's plenty of youth in this club so age is NOT something to blame here. It's simply all mentality and the leafs simply outworked them the last 2 games when realistically, the Bruins should be the desperate looking ones to avoid humiliation like last year.
