Goaltending will be the death of the oilers. They use to be a goaltending factory turning out good tenders.

As a mega goalie enthusiast, I love the Oilers goalies of course, but far less often than other teams have they been a team with superstar goaltending that carries them. More often they have relied on goal tending that is good at the right times, going all the way back to the days of Grant Fuhr being left out to dry and somehow letting them keep the lead, heh. Beyond Fuhr and Moog though (and maybe Devan Dubnyk more recently), I can't think of any superstar tenders that came out of the Oilers system. Joseph and Roloson came out of the Blues and Flames systems respectively, which are the two goalies I can think of who carried a weaker Oilers on their backs into the playoffs, and even Bill Ranford people forget came up in the Bruins organization before going to Edmonton. Maybe you can remind me of someone I'm missing, but for nearly all of the Oilers' existence I think they have traded for their good netminders rather than developed them themselves as your typical goalie factory does.

Skinner looks really, really bad on the Stars first shot and he wasn't even screened. Skinner's reaction has always been slow and this is a prime example! If the Oilers want to move on to the next round they should send him to the pasture, where he belongs.
