Honestly, I don’t think this was the best game Tampa has played this year. Yes they had an absurd amount of goals, but only being held to 14 shots the whole game and 1 shot in the first period is a little concerning. But they are the Lightning so I’m sure it won’t happen again for a long time and they did good finishing their chances. It was still 8-2 so I guess I shouldn’t complain lol

Point and Kucherov went on a tear tonight, but I will admit that they were getting outworked on the shot clock, which is a slight problem. The big cat is back in net, and maybe next time Brind’Amour won’t leave his goalie out to dry, that just broke a record for save percentage in a game

Has a goalie ever finished a full 60-minute game with a save % below 0.500 before this game? I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the first time. Edit: My intuition was correct, the Hurricanes just set the record for worst team save % in a single game (which simultaneously would be the worst save % for a goalie playing a full game). Previous worst were the Islanders in a game on Feb. 8, 1991 with exactly a 0.500 save %.
