Virat preferred 5 wicket taking bowlers and Six batsman including keeper.. Today Rohit went with 2 proper bowler. Bumrah and Akash.. Siraj is not up to test level since long still india is carrying him to every tours and give him every match. Better ask him to toil in domestic season for some test matches.. Spinner has lost his wicket taking ability / or atleast run stopping ability which RJ/Ash used to do. They are not at their best for sure.. Reddy is a good Pant like batsman who can play technically too. But is he a wicket taking bowler!!? Straight big NO!!! 2. Lack of Batting confidence - India dont have confidence in their batting now. Noone wants to play the session everyone is just behind runs. Ik head scored that way today but he did that because other top 4 ate up balls till 40overs... Prepare some decent pitches in india to get that back.. 3. Unsettled Batting Order - Tests is not T20s where anyone can do anyone's job..Every number is a specialist job.. 4. Not picking correct sort of player for correct number - Most teams in Tests have such a player at no 3 who plays out deliveries and has a very very good technique..india has gill who just plays strokes and has a big incoming ball issues which is unsolved since half a decade... Rather than Nitish scoring 40 runs each innings, I would have preferred to include another fast bowler (Prasidh Krishna) and expect him to take 4 wickets giving away 100 runs. Batsmen can delay loss, not deny a win to opposition. You need 20 wickets to win a test not 50 runs. India got it fully wrong in selection.

I watched almost all matches in SMAT and couldn't find a single decent fast bowler who bowls quick or even medium fast. The best fast bowlers were infact Ishant Sharma and Shami so that pretty much tells you the state of fast bowling in India. No wonder BCCI selectors don't select batsmen based on domestic performance. They know that the bowlers are not good enough to test the batsmen. I am not even talking about teams like Mizoram or Arunachal. Mumbai has Shardul Thakur and one other 30 year old bowler who bowls at 130. Where is next Bumrah going to come from?
