Jailynn Robinson of Orange Lutheran Water Polo on Final Field Block to Secure Win Against Mater Dei

Jailynn Robinson (@jailynnrobinson), a UCLA-bound senior at Orange Lutheran High in California, blocked the potential tying goal on a point-blank shot by top-ranked Mater Dei in the final three seconds to help the Lancers hold on for a 10-9 victory in the Trinity League girls water polo championship match at William Lyon Homes Aquatic Center at Mater Dei High. Robinson, the reigning CIF-Southern Section Open Division Player of the Year, added a goal and a pair of steals for Orange Lutheran, which rebounded from a 14-12 overtime setback Jan. 25 against the Monarchs in the final of the Newport Invite at Santa Ana Foothill High in California. The Lancers earned their first win in four matchups with Mater Dei this season.
