No people this new HD doesn't sound like old HD ,it also makes double ,literally hp and more tq than old.Welcome to modern times .Nothing wrong with old if you wanted that sound and liked the lackluster performance. Thanks to emissions and Indians line of scout bikes HD had to change .

This sound is not HD. The idle rpm is not as low as HD I've known for years

By-product of an engine that could actually save the company. The company was failing doing what it always had. Most of its customer base is getting old. They either don't ride anymore or have already died. The sound HD is known for was actually caused by some cheap shortcuts made in the production of some early engines. The idle isn't as low because the bore stroke is now shorter. Gets more RPM for more power while being more fuel efficient. Many of the globes emission laws won't even allow for the older engines to live much longer.

Very nice! Where did you get the exhaust from and did a HD dealer install it for you? The stock exhaust is what kept me back from seriously looking getting the bike. The bike is beautiful and looks better in person. But the exhaust look was not good and did not match the beauty of the bike. So, I would like to know how this happened and thanks!

@@kevinwelch5203 or buy a used 48 for about 8000 and then put another 4000 worth of Hammer performance parts in the motor to make at the rear wheel what the sportster S makes at the crank... all while enjoying having a few thousand dollars left over, more parts/ customization options, classic look, and an exhaust note that doesn't sound like four stroke dirt bike lol.
