Orlin Norris is a smart man Even after 25 years anyone looking at these highlights could see he didn’t want no part of Mike after that accidental knock down after the bell. Golota had suffered a fractured orbital bone, brain swelling, and some other injuries. Any boxing vet knows how dangerous that break is. Any punch on or near the injured eye could easily cause partial or even total blindness in that eye. After that he would never be certified again and his career would be over. By withdrawing Golota might have saved his life and probably saved his career. No shame should be put on the man.

The veterans division in boxing came to an end when Holyfield got beat ugly by the KZbin guy. Tyson, who lost to Holyfield (remember) would have suffered the same thing.

He was the best master of defense in boxing,could duck punches like no other,and the most exciting boxer to watch either live or on tv.

Mike was underated as a defefender... That Peek-aboo technique is no joke.
@scottg67542 жыл бұрын
It was a very active defense to offense. But it was time dependent as it took a lot of energy out of you. Tyson only had that as an active strategy for about half the fight and then he slowed down. Got tied up. Still tough it became a different fight.

One other thing I recall from standing in the crowd watching Tyson lift 220pd men with his punching power, were the exclamations of "fuck that" coming from the people watching, all slack jawed and deflated.....

People forget he had excellent head movement and defense as well.

Watching those men take repeated punches to the liver, kidneys, ribs and the head just blows my mind, especially considering it is Iron Mike Tyson who is delivering those punches. If I had had the opportunity to get in the ring with Iron Mike I would have used the 'Peek-A-Boo-Possum' technique: immediately after Iron Mike's first swing you fall to the canvas and play dead.

A prime Lennox Lewis beats a prime Mike Tyson!!!
@theshapeexists2 жыл бұрын
You do know Mike beat Lennox back in the 80s. And no way. Lennox beat a way out of prime Tyson, don't be delusional. 80s or early 90s Mike would kill any version of Lewis.

@@theshapeexists u do know in the boxing history books the victory in 2002 when lennox won. Is the only relevant victory that matters!!

I’m glad people have clarified the Golota fight because I’ve seen it in other complication videos and they just make it seem like he quit without reason
