Hi Nico, how is the wind in Santa Maria bay and in front of Robinson hotel? I have heard that Santa Maria creates quite some turbulence in the bay.

Hi - I found it to be okay in front of the Robinson hotel and only slightly gusty. The closer you get to Santa Maria the more turbulences you get. Last January (2022) a large area between Robinson and Santa Maria was already planted for a new hotel (I guess you can see it on the drone footage from the bay). Once this is build we will probably have more disturbances also in front of the Robinson. I will be back in January 2023 and can post an update once I am there 🤙🏻🏄🏻‍♂️

@@robertstad8796 in Santa Maria best place to kite (clean wind) is Angulo. Where you launch, in front of Angulo restaurant / bar, it's still (super-!)gusty, but once you launch you move 200-300 m to the left (east), and there wind is as clean as on kite beach as there are no obstacles on its way. It's offshore though, no rescue, so be careful.

@@stevestats no changes this January. We had solid wind the whole time and wind was slightly gusty as always. Fortunately, no additional Hotel build so far and still a great spot.

super nice Nico! do you have a price range for the taxis or pick ups for doing 5km trips to the kite beaches? Also from the airport to santa maria, do you advise a taxi or Bus?

Hi. Price range to the beaches is 5-10 € - you can often share a pick-up or taxi. To the airport with taxi, I have to check. I am currently back on Sal, maybe I can find out ;-)
