Can you tell me if the spot on has a stronger static correction than the halo 3 or is it the same? I know there are 30 levels vs 15 levels with the halo but is it stronger? We sent the halo 3 back after 3-4 months of usage because our GSP pup was not phased by the highest level on the halo. We have a remote controlled one now that has enough power to get his attention but he’s older now 13 months and marking the neighbors property so we need a new option or we will be putting up a real fence.

I honestly couldn’t tell you. I don’t use static correction on the dogs-training sufficed for us. I used them a couple of times on my hands just to get a general feel for it lol. But I didn’t run the correction levels all the way through on both collars. I would imagine the correction levels are similar, with 30 including more specific levels in between, but that’s just a guess on my part.

Great review but I am having difficulty finding the required weight and age to use the Spot ON collar. Hope you can help and sorry if you did cover this?

There are always exceptions to the rule but, generally speaking, I don’t think age is much of a factor unless you plan on using shock correction, which I don’t use on the device. I def wouldn’t use shock for a very young or very old dog. As far as size goes, the neck sizes should be 10” to 26” and the dog should be more than 15 lbs. The small dogs are more of a concern because of the collar’s two bulky sections. They don’t allow the collar to form a simple circle if the dog’s neck is too small. Instead, they contort the collar and would probably make it uncomfortable or sloppy looking.

If you want to take your dog for a walk outside the boundary is there something that turns it off like the halo beacon?

You can press and hold the power button on the collar until the LED light quits flashing or you can pull it up on the app and swipe left to deactivate the fence. The app is quickest for me, since my phone is usually with me.

Can I use the same system for multiple dogs? I have 2 thinking about getting another one. If I can how much does a second collar cost?
@WorldAnimalFdn7 ай бұрын
The SpotOn is designed to work with multiple collars. I have the SpotOn 2nd Gen and new SpotOn Omni on the app on my iPhone and iPad, and it’s a simple swipe of the screen to go back and forth between the two collars. Right now, the collar is $899 for the duration of the spring sale, normally $999. I believe there is a significant discount if you purchase more than one at the same time, but I could be wrong about that. It’s worth checking out because you don’t have to pay for a subscription to create fences and keep your dogs contained. You only need a subscription with the SpotOn if you want to use the tracking and location features.

My dog loves to swim in our pond. Is the collar 100% waterproof? Thanks great review.

Yes, the SpotOn Collar is 100% waterproof to IP67 standards, meaning it can handle swimming in your pond. It's designed to withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.

Spot On is very expensive and you have to charge it daily? Ridiculous

It is very expensive! You can get discounts here and there and we offer codes from time to time as well, but even with the discounts, it’s definitely a pricey collar. The battery life makes sense, however, when you consider everything the collar does at any given time. It’s consistently updating every six seconds or so, running Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and your cell carrier. It’s constantly communicating to one degree or another and you can still get 35+ hours out of it in Extended Battery Life Mode-all on a fairly tiny battery. I completely understand the hesitancy though.
