While they did not mention the quarantine in the video , which irks me, there are indeed quarantines in many areas of the US, including Ohio. This means you are not supposed to move plants or plant parts like firewood out of the area. There’s a comprehensive list on the Ohio department of agriculture website if you click on the OAC 905:5-56 link in the arrival on the spotted lantern fly quarantine and then read the section labeled ‘regulated articles’. Sometimes this is regulated by ODA employees watching vehicles entering the area and stopping them to check for the transportation of these articles. Obviously it’s almost impossible to completely prevent the spread given a number of factors.

@@Vmoose Gotcha. We've got them here in VA as well, but now they are saying over here they may serve another ecological purpose, even if they are considered invasive. Makes sense as we have to check for "aquatic hitchhikers" when removing our canoes, boats, etc before leaving the Bay, Sound, or other water. Thanks!
