People who are staying in Canada under any temporary work permit/student visas should not be allowed to bring in their families in the first place. That is absurd ! Because anytime the temporary work permit/student visa could be revoked and if the whole family is there that would be a problem for the family. Only PR status people should be allowed to bring over their families.

@wilsonong5722 are you suggesting that even international students who have come to Canada to study their PhD which is about 4 years should not be allowed to bring their immediate family (i.e., wife and kids)? Don't you think staying 4 year whole year or more from your family is big deal? Don't you think spouses and children will need each other through "lonely difficult PhD journey"?

@ I know that family needs to stay together but having only a temporary permit to stay whether work/ student visa is very risky. Without certainty on your stay in Canada you gamble the future of your whole family which many temporary residents are now facing. You chose to work in a foreign country that is a price you face to accept. After you have uprooted your family from your country, stayed in Canada for 4 years, if the government decides you cannot stay anymore what will happen to your family ? Government should have a very clear regulation for those who have worked legally in Canada for some years to legally apply for resident status including sponsoring his/her family in a reasonable period of time. For them to be legally united and not face uncertainty.

Thousand of international students and 60% have came accompanied by their spouse. That’s insane and the result is overwhelming as Canada has more people and lesser roofs for everyone. How did Canada Immigration failed its calculations 😮.Fix the problem

Before the PGWP expires, can they file for PR & how?
@TheCanadaChronicles11 сағат бұрын
Hi @OrientalAngel514, great question! Yes, before their PGWP expires, individuals can file for PR if they meet the eligibility criteria under pathways like Express Entry, PNPs, or other relevant programs. They should ensure their profile is complete and meets program requirements. Filing early is key to avoid gaps in status. 😊

What are my chances of obtaining a SOWP visa approval, given that my spouse is employed as a shift manager at Burger King in Canada under work permit (not student) and my application has already been submitted on Aug 2024.
@TheCanadaChronicles4 күн бұрын
Hi @sayanthsoman912! Your chances depend on meeting IRCC's requirements, including proof of a genuine relationship and your spouse's valid work permit. Since your application is already submitted, it’s a waiting game now. Stay hopeful, and wishing you the best! 🙏
